I have been working at Allied Orion Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company itself was great. Everyone on the corporate side was amazing.

    Cons

The management at my current property lied to me in the interview. Be very clear about things before you accept a position.

    Advice to Management

Beware of you who you hire as management. The managers I had were awful to work for. Very lazy and rude to residents. One if then stayed clocked in while she went home and went on 2 hour lunches. Unprofessional was all I expected with this property.

I worked at Allied Orion Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free cake on birthdays, good experience.

    Cons

Management plays favorites and talks about employee's performances and disciplinary actions to other employees. If they don't want you on the team they will do everything they can to get you fired or to leave. Worst management team ever had to work with. Almost like working with high school teenagers instead of having good leaders to look up to.

    Advice to Management

Stop gossiping and get a better hold on all the drama. Stop telling employees about other employee problems. Also probably best to not mistreat employees to the point where others notice.

I have been working at Allied Orion Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I absolutely love my immediate supervisor. Always supportive and a fantastic mentor. Definite opportunity for growth from within but you better be willing to prove yourself worth it!

    Cons

This company micromanages a lot. You hire an on site management team to manage the asset - let them do that. Trust your employees to make decisions based on what is best for the property and company and be willing to back them up when crazy residents complain instead of rolling over and giving them whatever they want just because they yell and threaten. This teaches them bad behavior is rewarded instead of behaving like responsible adults.

    Advice to Management

There is a ton of hype and encouragement from the corporate cheerleaders but very little follow through when we actually meet the unrealistic goals we are given. Follow through with your promises and words of encouragement go a LONG way.

AOG - you have a large portfolio outside of Houston and it feels like the rest of the company gets forgotten a lot of the time.

Senior management - remember to praise when things go well instead of only reprimanding when things go wrong.

I have been working at Allied Orion Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Allied-Orion seemed too good to be true when I first started, but as the years go by I have realized this is just the Allied way. The support from internal departments, upper management and owners is wonderful! They have an amazing training department that is still continuing to grow. Allied-Orion makes you feel like you are working with family. The return investment in the team members is phenomenal, and truly like none other. I cannot say enough about the partners, development and construction. They are all absolutely wonderful, flexible and real. The home and work life balance is respected here and they value your time. The company has a lot of future growth and likes to promote within. I am very honored to be working for such a wonderful company.

    Cons

I'm still waiting for those....none for me personally at this time.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Being open, honest, flexible and real is a few of the things that make Allied-Orion such a great place to work.
