They will help you get a guard card and have benefits.

Pros
Some locations are good. When you least expected you get a good team (After several turn overs).
Cons
Management is all over the place. Communication is Minimal to nonexistent. Paycheck is always off. Site will have you do things outside of your job description and Higher ups will allow it. Lying about more money for higher positions. Not following up with time off forms, but quick to call if something bad happens.

Pros
A job that pays well.
Cons
Security vehicle broke down every 2 or 3 months. We were told to use our personal vehicles with no financial reimbursement. Employees showing up to work with no uniform on at Vineland developmental center west campus Vineland nj 08360. Despite complaints to then supervisor Brian Wheeler and Mark Clements about officer not in uniform and smoking weed on the job. Nothing ever happened nor did they care as long as a body was on the work site.regional supervisor mark Clemments. Former Middlesex county Sgt prosecutors office. Was brought up on charges ( Google above info} in July 2009 for harassing under employees at prosecutor office via anonymous texts . Was likely told to retire or charges and termination would ensue. Like most police departments they allowed him to retire. He fired me because I cursed at him. Wow thought we were men. Plus he deserved it, I asked Mark Clements and Pete Gardner for FMLA paperwork via text. They said ok. I never received said paperwork. Employees wear hand cuffs carry mace and wear body cameras on duty which isn't allowed. But supervisor Brian Wheeler needed to carry his firearm on unarmed post at Vineland developmental center west campus which is closed facility. Yet others couldn't. How mark Clemments was permitted to be a supervisor based on criminal past charges from prosecutors office is mind blowing, Allied universal needs to do a better job of getting their supervisors and employees. Im glad I'm gone. I don't like hypocrisy.

Pros
You work for the biggest security company in the world. Useful when applying to different companies. Direct supervisor is a good manager just overwhelmed. Manages 17 other recruiters in 6 states. His boss only manages 3 managers. Pretty convenient. She has lots of free time to overstep and try to manage for him. Shows lack of trust. Makes him look weak. But he is well rounded and good to work for.
Cons
Pay does not match the industry, location or workload for amount of work in this position of any of the manager positions. Receive $50k where cost of living is much, much higher than this. Regional VP who is really the district manager just with cool title is a tool. Try’s to micro manage everyone. Puts his work on everyone else’s plate. Does not know how to do the things he tasks out. If I don’t hear “Don’t know, Figure It Out….” again from someone who makes 3 times what I make I’ll call that a Win for me, 8/12 in office have quit in last 6 mo’s. He has lot more to do with this than he should.

Pros
Tasks are relatively simple even for a site that has a ton of safety policies that take extra time to do. Pay is decent and you will get raises as contracts are renegotiated at certain sites.
Cons
Night shift can be monotonous or boring which makes it easy to get drowsy. Get more than 3 hours of sleep and go to work with caffeine and you'll be fine.

Pros
Very stress free job, no one seems to care about anything until something happens a very reactive environment. The team apart from the tone-deaf management are a really great bunch to work with. A very nice and easy stop-gap job.
Cons
Reactive instead of proactive approach to safety. A very "us vs them" type of work environment with mall management looking to catch security doing anything that might be perceived as bad, (i.e discreetly taking photos of guards talking to each other and complaining to the Security Director regardless if the conversation was job-related or not.) New policies that get implemented for about a week before everyone stops caring, management included of course. Absolutely 0 consistency in anything. Job has shifted away from actual safety concerns and focuses more on parking enforcement to maximize profit. Security cannot intervene in any type of altercation and do not carry handcuffs anymore. Management takes shotgun approach to problem solving. (i.e Problems with employees parking in customer only lots so the solution was to close the entire customer lot to everyone making very many people employees & customers included upset. Presenting solutions to aforementioned problems to supervisors only for them to continue the painfully long way to fix problems. Mall Management & Security Management would rather stand next to a problem and call someone over to deal with it rather than address it themself. Extremely weak leadership all around.

Pros
Company does a good job at representing our needs for pay rate. They work hard at filling staffing gaps.
Cons
Staffing for this kind of workforce can be challenging. As a 2nd shift worker, I have had to cover many 3rd shift no shows. AUS has improved the quality of hires and pay so this does not happen as often as before. There is still room for improvement.
