    Pros

When the housing market was good, I was making over six figures and working less than 35 hours a week. That was in 1999, but now with the market so slow, you have to work twice as hard, and you are not making much. Currently at $65k, and I don't know if they will keep me.

As a COD rep. you work out of your home, and make your own hours. If you are successful, it can really be a GREAT JOB!!

    Cons

The housing market is killing the moving industry. If someone loses $100k on the sale of their home, they will be looking to make up that money somewhere else, so they move themselves, or go with these shady budget movers. Its tougher now than ever.

    Advice to Management

Don't sit back and wait. Know what your Sales force is doing. Lots of us are screwing around, waiting for things to get better!

    Pros

Good opportunity to make a great living.
Not stuck in a office all day.

    Cons

    No room for Growth
Drive a lot of miles and spend lots of time in the car.
no company car provided. Car allowance is nothing after its taxed
    no extra bonuses.

    Advice to Management

    Provide more incentives for employees.

I worked at Allied Van Lines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Quiet work environment, free coffee, plenty of work to do. GM is very nice to work with and not demanding.

    Cons

Low salary. Office manager not willing to train and always on your back about what you did wrong, but never willing to teach you the proper way. Out dated computer system and phone system. Seems to be a dying company.

    Advice to Management

Up date all systems and brighten up the offices. Bring in a office manager that has better people skills and doesn't believe that everyone is an idiot.
