I worked at AlliedBarton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Placement and pay are decent.

    Cons

HR, Account manager communication is off. HR Reception is rude and unprofessional, does not exercise work ethic, office etiquette, or Professional dress. As a former employee/lay off; Information about a merge or Union information was not given, I paid Union dues but, never received confirmation of receipt of concerns/correspondence as to what can be done about placement at another site, at Allied Universal you are required to start hiring process over even though you had not been terminated.

    Advice to Management

Provide proper information for your employees, communicate when situations come about that are beyond the employees control, have options available for placement in lay off circumstances and assign a recruiter to see the task through.

    Cons

Favoritism should not rear it's face at any job. Fairness is not observed at this job by it's Mgrs and supervisors.

    Advice to Management

Seek mgrs and Supervisors with some compassion and understanding when adhering to the rules

I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

With the amount of turnover, there is almost always opportunities for overtime. They have 4 options for health insurance which is actually pretty good.

    Cons

The company literally does not care about individual employees. Best pray you get assigned to a site where either the client wants as little turnover as possible so keeping officer's happy is a priority or an operations manager who views officers as something more than just a required number to fill needed posts. The only chance to increase your salary is to get to a more prestigious site or become a site supervisor. If your operations manager is unprepared for his/her job or worse doesn't care then your paychecks can easily become random and your vacation time will just disappear.

    Advice to Management

If you want to decrease turnover and the overtime that comes with it, compensate the more experienced officers accordingly.

    Pros

Management was very hands off and let me do my job
Good way to gain experience in the field
    Plenty of overtime
    Okay benefits
Worked with some very professional, competent guards

    Cons

Management was a little too hands off
Only met my site supervisor once
Hired some guards with questionable abilities/experience
Sometimes felt like just a body to fill a position

    Advice to Management

Offer decent employees better advancement opportunities
Consider offering incentives for employees to better themselves (college tuition reimbursement, continued training that isn't just an Allied module)
Pay your employees better, some of these folks work in some dangerous places
