    Pros

I was satisfied with employment at AB. I was give the opportunity to grow and advance. The regional management I dealt with was excellent. The corporate staff was sometimes difficult but there was a lot of turnover due to acquisitions. The company grew from 18,000 employees to 50,000 in the seven years I was there.

    Cons

Due to the growth there was constant change. AS the company grew outside people were brought into the corporate structure. They didn't always understand the business. The legal department was known as the sales prevention department.

    Advice to Management

Slow the growth, you're not Securitas and nobody wants to be.

    Pros

Training, Web base courses, freedom to work and not being micro-manage and being able to learn while working.

    Cons

Having call-offs and being stuck, benefits package too much too pay into.

    Advice to Management

Rewarding Officers more, hire people who have a mind set to do security and not those who just want a job.

    Pros

The online training courses are great, the work schedule is good and they try to work around your school schedule. You get out of it what you put into it. Security is not for everybody you have to like the field of security if you want to advance.

    Cons

The benefits could be better but this is not a government job and I understand that.

    Advice to Management

Have more law courses pertaining to security guidelines for the states that AlliedBarton operates in on the EDGE portal.

I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Allied Barton is a national company with Big and Small clients. They don't nickel and dime you for every little thing. There standards are respectable and job duties can vary greatly. Plenty of room for training and moving up.

    Cons

As with most large companies, personal connection with them can lack unless you go out of your way to make yourself know. (preferably in a good way.) Also, with any job, It is not immune to personality differences. I have had problems with direct supervisors, but the company has always taken care of me.

    Advice to Management

Increase regular district site inspection to make sure officers are holding to Allied Barton's standards. Particularly the appearance standards.

I worked at AlliedBarton full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They give you ample opportunity to pick up hours.
    Decent pay
They have high standards of your performance, which is good for the company.
I highly enjoyed working there, enjoyed what I did, but it takes a lot of confidence and inner strength to handle the pressures.

    Cons

Very strict with policies and will give you no leeway if one is broken unintentionally. Long hours on your feet, but if you can handle it, you will be fine. You don't get time for a break.

    Advice to Management

    N/A
