I worked at AlliedBarton full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Allied Universal offers flexible scheduling. Allied Universal continues to offer reduced tuition for full time employees at certain universities such as University of Phoenix.

    Cons

Due to the new company, jobs are not very secure. My former district manager was demoted to scheduling manager when the new company took over. The other district manager no longer works for the company. I now see a lot of employee turnover since the new company took over. Allied Barton had less employee turnover. Advancement is now less likely within the new company.

    Advice to Management

You need to find out how to reduce employee turnover. A great way to do this is to show employees that you really care about them. Another thing that security officers look forward to is job security. You need to show them that each and every member of the company is valuable to the company, and continue to treat them that way.

I worked at AlliedBarton full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Not hard to get on.

    Cons

Pay fluctuates with post. No matter seniority next job may go down, in pay. Training needs improvement.

    Advice to Management

Train your supervisors and hold them accountable so your officers have a professional to train them to the best of their ability to do their job professionally. Love this company 5 years ago when I left..it has changed alot.

    Cons

I don't get lunches. Although we have paid on site lunches. it is very very rare I am able to take a lunch or break

I have been working at AlliedBarton (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learn a great deal about security and customer service. Work is not physically demanding. Constant change. Highest rated security company and one of the largest in the country.

    Cons

As title said too much turnover. No incentives, no clear career path. Cannot sustain living expenses. Below market average pay. Benefits package too expensive. Uniforms are poor quality and make people look terrible.

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying about the almighty dollar and invest in your people. Negotiate better contracts.

I have been working at AlliedBarton full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good Pay for Un-armed Security. Set schedules with little change or disruption. Allows you to get a good foot in the door if you like the security field.

    Cons

Advancement is shaky. You need to really show you know what your doing and keep in contact with account managers.

Benefits package is decent but most folks working in cleared sites are military and just use their health insurance.

I have been working at AlliedBarton (More than a year)

    Pros

    super easy job, ok pay

    Cons

whatever they pay you will FOREVER be your pay - you will never get a raise because whatever they pay you is all they're contracted to pay. They don't appreciate employees, if you have any types of issues don't expect them to get resolved. Upper management does not communicate at all. My paycheck was messed up - numerous times which took months to fix. You have to work literally every holiday - the only perk to that is the time in a half pay but they don't care if you have a family to spend those days with. You don't get a 15 or a 30 minute break. I'm currently a breastfeeding mother and they won't allow me to take one 15 minute break a day to pump, as I've said previously... upper management doesn't care about your concerns or needs
