    Pros

Good infrastructure, friendly environment, fun at work, flexible working hours.

    Cons

Just superb. There are constant reviews and feedback going on, and management listens to the employees and implements new methods and process for the betterment of the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing the good work and support the team.

I worked at Allscripts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has an excellent suite of products... And some real dogs. It depends. Some of the business units are outstanding. Others are astoundingly, outrageously bad. It depends. Some leaders are fantastic. Others? I literally would not wish them on my worst enemy. It depends.

    Cons

The sales organization is highly compartmentalized, and the business units frequently step on each others' toes. Relations between management of the business segments can be less than cordial (to the point of fisticuffs). Some sales leaders - I had one - was prone to 1:AM phone calls, hysterics, and not much else of value.

For a salesperson, though, the worst thing is actually getting paid on the comp plan. I do not know of any big deal where a salesperson didn't have to fight to just get a portion of their commissions as prescribed in the plan.

95% of the company stock is controlled by a handful of institutional investors. THE top management of the company has said outright that THEY are their customers. And the company acts accordingly. Literally anything goes at end of quarter.

    Advice to Management

I actually feel for you guys. Glad it's not me anymore.

    Cons

Senior Management needs to acknowledge the employees, also very Micro Management.

Lay off happens very often which is not a good sign

Nothing much to learn in terms of Technical Aspects

    Advice to Management

    I worked at Allscripts full-time

    Pros

    Good base pay and holiday/PTO

    Cons

Upper management is ever changing creating uncertainty. Frequent (12-18 mo) layoffs. Front line and mid level management places little value on employees. Outsourcing more and more jobs to India.

    Advice to Management

"If the person who's working for your company is not given the right tools, is not looked after, is not appreciated, they're not gonna do things with a smile and therefore the customer will be treated in a way where often they won't want to come back for more. So, my philosophy has always been, if you can put staff first, your customer second and shareholders third, effectively, in the end, the shareholders do well, the customers do better, and yourself are happy" - Richard Branson

I worked at Allscripts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible work arrangement -- work from home.

    Cons

This is hands down the most dysfunctional and oppressive professional experience I have had. Most of the C-Suite are unworthy of anyone's respect, and they have zero concern or respect for their employees. Morale is in the gutter.
I struggle to find anything positive to say about Allscripts after a year of working there, and feel it was a total waste of time.

    Advice to Management

The board of directions should let one of Allscripts' competitors acquire the company so the c-suite can be fired.
