    Pros

There are no pros I can share about this organization. The environment and the manner in which employees are treated is a serious issue.

    Cons

I have been employed at Allscripts in Whittier, California for a couple of years. The work environment is extremely bad. Each week either someone is quitting or out on stress leave. Employees are over worked and grossly under paid. The executive management is a bully. Not a professional work environment.

    Pros

Good, passionate people at lower levels

    Cons

    Bad leadership
    Shaky vision
Blame and finger pointing is the norm
    No support from managers

    Advice to Management

Wake up-all the good people are leaving because your senior leaders are too concerned about themselves and don't provide any guidance or structure to be successful. People have been leaving consistently for 2 years

I have been working at Allscripts full-time

    Pros

Great people who work exceptionally hard.

    Cons

Corporate culture overworks those that are gifted and able which leads to burnout. Struggling with stock price right now so solely focused on sales and lacking focus on execution.

    Advice to Management

Improvement comes from within. You will sell more by ensuring all employees are delivering as if they are in front of a client no matter their role. Expand the knowledge of the few so great people are not over worked.

I have been working at Allscripts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

PTO time is good. Health Insurance was good but going up every year.

    Cons

I have had four managers in four years, only one who took any interest in the department and he left. There is one person with the title expert on his credentials who does whatever he likes. They are not telling everyone but they are still out processing about 10 people a day reducing head count.

    Advice to Management

Don't move a group under a manager that has no clue what the department does, it truly does more harm then good.

    Pros

Nice chair and desk. Health insurance was pretty good.

    Cons

Hired people with a lot of experience and trained them in Chicago with the same worthless program they used in India. Treated them like they were in India, too . The training was worthless as it had nothing to do with the actual job that was offered when training was complete. Took advantage of the politicians in Chicago and got all the tax benefits but then paid the people desperate for a job only 42,000 a year. Then laid off most of them not even a year later.

I have been working at Allscripts full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Work from home capabilities. Little management oversight outside of Raleigh, NC. Ability to self manage.

    Cons

One track career. No ability to branch out to other areas. Management will not listen to employees or their division's needs? Management in Raliegh is a revolving door. Poor morale

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees on the front line. Not every solution is interchangeable because it worked for a different product

I have been working at Allscripts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Professional services (implementation) staff people are fantastic - almost always willing to go the extra 10 miles for their clients.
Most clients are very appreciative for the knowledge/assistance they receive from Professional Services staff members.

    Cons

Company does NOT believe in work/personal life balance
Senior management lies/deliberately misleads employees about state of the company.
    Delivers defect-laden code to customers
Holds implementation people responsible for defects/issues caused by bad code
Advancement in Allscripts is based on who you know NOT what you know or accomplish

    Advice to Management

Get a QA department and TEST code before releasing to clients.
Start LISTENING to your employees instead of lecturing them on how they need to work harder and longer - most Professional Services people already log 60+ hour work weeks 3 out of 4 weeks!

    Pros

    Great work environment and hours

    Cons

Company has tendency to ship jobs overseas

    Advice to Management

Have some decency to your employees who have put in many hours of dedicated hard work only to come into work and tell us that you have terminated us in favor of off-shore support then we find out the very next day you hired 15 new people at substantially lower salaries and who are much younger.
