    Pros

Is hiring and seems to be no longer under the gun on wall street

    Cons

The anodyne to epic where cost is no object. When you compete ruthlessly on cost it impacts also quality of Mel,one salaries, and pride of work..woudl you artery work for Kia or Lexus ?

    Advice to Management

If you have decided to compete on cost, that's fine, but you still have to provide decent Service to customers and not low ball bids

I worked at Allscripts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunity to move up. If you're bright and have initiative, then you'll have a place to shine. The compensation is good.

    Cons

At times, you will carry a lot of dead weight. There are many people that have managed to stay on through mergers and acquisitions that don't (or can't) do any critical thinking.

Too many mergers and not enough focus going forward. To many VPs trying to kiss up instead of focusing on their products.

Because a lot is on fire, expect to be working periodically on the weekends.

No real culture from what I can see.

The buildings were dingy and not enough light. If you were a director or above you got an office on the exterior corridor which meant you got to see the sun. Otherwise it was hit or miss.

    Advice to Management

Thin the management ranks, focus the product line. Too many VPs with their own agendas.

    Pros

I obtained a lot of useful work experience in the number of positions I held. They have afforded me the right to be qualified for a host of positions.

    Cons

The culture there is to work not only our 8 hours but an additional 4 or more a day in order to stay on top of our job. Although it was not suggested by management, as a hard working individual, it was a need in order to perform at your best.

Progressing in the company was not evident.

    Advice to Management

Create a culture that allows the employees to have a work, life, balance without feeling guilty. Create an environment of appreciation for jobs well done to boost employee moral.
