    Pros

Great people and great work environment. Salary on par with the market.

    Cons

Software is lacking big time. At least give Finance/Accounting computers with higher processors so we can be efficient in our work

I have been working at Allscripts full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Salary, benefits, wellness initiatives. It is a good solid job in an area where those are at a premium. Nice office space.

    Cons

Very corporate feel, not transparent at all with business decisions. Some co-workers have been downsized without explanation to the rest of the team. Very big company that is sluggish to change.

    Advice to Management

Need to be more transparent. When big changes were happening to our team even our direct managers had little to no information for us about what was happening for weeks.

I have been working at Allscripts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You are constantly learning something new. One pro i enjoy is the remote working environment. This company also very strong communication. I very much like how they keep their employees inform.

    Cons

The onboarding process is a choppy. It depends on the division that you are associated with. I was receiving email for mandatory new hire meetings which in the company home state.

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

There was lots of focus on employees and trying to cultivate a good company atmosphere. Had lots of parties, the most PTO days I've ever seen at a company (23 +1 floating day +10 holidays)

    Cons

Salaries not competitive, hard to get promoted internally. Caliber of average employee was less than that at other companies I have worked for. Had ability to work from home, but it was looked down on.

    Advice to Management

Company needs more strategic focus, and be honest with employees. Company meetings made it always seemed like we were in the perfect spot in the market, which just isnt true. Need better strategists and employee communication.

I have been working at Allscripts as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Health IT is constantly changing so the challenges never end--nothing monotonous about the work. Many of my colleagues are off-shore and I enjoy the cross-cultural dialogue.

    Cons

Because the context of Health IT is constantly changing, there is a constant need to catch up to what is going on. This can lead to confusion about who is doing what. With a large company, such communication can be difficult.

    Advice to Management

As always, communicate with everyone at all levels to get a better understanding of the actual employee culture.
