I have been working at Allstar Products Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Open door, flexibility, management and the ability to do different things. The fact that there is always someone there to help you if you need it is great.

    Cons

The only con that I see is that promotions don't happen right away. I guess every company is different and everyone develops at a different pace

    Advice to Management

I think giving importance to employees helps with retention and productivity

I worked at Allstar Products Group (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are looking to gain work experience, there can be plenty potential to move throughout the company. Especially if you are brought on to assist multiple departments and/or managers. Being able to try out and acquire products is a plus.

    Cons

Some of the managers are disrespectful to the employees. Upper management does nothing about it even when it's brought to their attention. Company is constantly looking for ways to save money which equates to a layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Be more involved in what your managers are doing and how they're treating their peers and assistants. Managers should be held accountable for their actions especially when it comes to how they treat their assistants/employees.

I worked at Allstar Products Group full-time

    Pros

This is a great place if you can land an entry level job. You will get a well rounded business education that can be applied to any future career.

    Cons

Very little room for advancement. Will take you forever to get a promotion, but that is why I say it's a good entry level opportunity. Stay two years and best move on.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting "the owners" call the shots. The company's reputation is not what it used to be.

    Pros

The people, great collaborative environment. If you are hardworking and talented you can do well here and be recognized for it. DRTV is a fast paced and exciting environment and enables you to cut your chops on many types of products and apply diverse marketing techniques.

    Cons

The number of projects and responsibilities at a given time and the fast paced environment may not be a fit for everyone. Recognizing and the ability to prioritize is critical.

"Great products, weak operations, low morale, unusual internal politics/bureaucracy"

    Pros

Home of Snuggie and Topsy Turvy planters. The AsSeenOnTV industry is fast paced and ever changing. The company develops and markets many new products a year. It's anything but ordinary. The direct response side of the business is a great place to get some experience and then move on.

    Cons

Some executives speak poorly and inappropriately about employees behind their back. Unqualified personnel have been promoted for 'loyalty' vs. real contributions to the organization. Critique the wrong people and processes and your time is limited.

    Advice to Management

Great products may drive success that hides serious operational and managerial weaknesses. Significant restructuring was instituted and if the expected results are not achieved those leading the change and the changes themselves should be re-evaluated and personnel should be reassigned to roles more in-line with their skill set.

    Pros

Culture is good, people are nice, and you get to see a ton of different and interesting products. Scott (the CEO) is a great guy.

    Cons

You are selling ASO.TV products, so there's that. Not a ton of room for growth opportunities, but it is a good place to learn if you are just out of school.

    Pros

Overall, a nice place to work. The people are easy to work with and it's not a stressful place to work.

    Cons

They seem to constantly restructuring so you never feel like your job is completely secure, which is not a great feeling.
