    Pros

best sale job ive ever had. its not hard selling to people that want something.

    Cons

micromanagement was the worst at times. i guess in retail you have to play the numbers game and they did so all day.

    Advice to Management

the company is out of business now so i guess that answers this questions

    I worked at Alltel full-time

    Pros

Good income IF you can meet their quotas, not a possibility if you live in a rural community

    Cons

QUOTAS are not maintainable in rural communities.

    Advice to Management

If you are going to spend all the money that you do in training, give the employees a better chance of succeeding and ditch the "if you don't meet quotas for 2 months in a row or in a rolling 12 month period, you're fired".

I worked at Alltel full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits that I received from Alltel were nice. Excellent health insurance, 401K and the pay was pretty good if you met your sales goals. Vacation time was two weeks per year.

    Cons

Alltel was strictly about sales and I felt as though I couldn't customize the products and/or services to fit my individual customers or families. You had to push things such as a smartphone on an 80 year old man who would never be able to use or had no interest and the sales goals were tough especially in our rural area. The hours were long and many times worked seven days per week. I couldn't handle the stress of struggling to meet my sales goals every month and worrying for three months if the customer was going to keep the device, service and/or accessory you worked so hard to sell. If they returned it or cancelled, you were charged back.

    Advice to Management

Focus on creating honest and caring sales reps and your employees and customers would be much happier. I would still be there today. I understand we're there to make the company money but if you make a customer mad you're going to ultimately lose them and the rep has to catch the grief for selling them a product that they didn't want or need causing them to spend more money per month.
