    Pros

    Tuition benefit for dependents
Fair medical insurance options, low to no cost
    Dental level 1 provided
    Latest technology
You get to work with intelligent people, thinkers and planners

    Cons

Clerical wages are not level with other area colleges (CMU)
    Need more clerical staff employed
    Slow on internal technology training

    Advice to Management

Hire more clerical staff or look at what the current clerical staff do every day, some not much, others too much

    Pros

Friendly environment, supportive co-workers, and fun projects.

    Pros

I love working as a student assistant at Alma College. The full time staff around me are great to work with, and always help me to succeed, as a coworker and as a student.

    Cons

If you want to do a lot of work for a little, that's how Alma College works. Pay is minimum wage for student workers, but they are flexible with your class schedule.

    Advice to Management

Be able to give students raises after faithful service for 2 years! It would be nice to see that we are valued if we stick with the same job for a good length of time.

I worked at Alma College part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very flexible scheduling, very understanding supervisors/bosses, good pay for what you're doing, and the work is super easy once you learn to do the basic work.

    Cons

Coworkers sometimes don't care enough about the job and it makes your job that much harder when they don't do it right.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing.

I worked at Alma College full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I really enjoyed my time at Alma College. I was given a lot of autonomy and trust to do what needed to get done. The staff and management are very relaxed and want people's honest opinions and contributions. This worked out great for me as I am a very self-motivated person. I was able to attend several conferences and build my own schedule. Overall great experience.

    Cons

Because some things can be lax, if you're working with someone who isn't self-motivated you might be doing additional work for them. There are not definite consequences for employees who slack.

    Advice to Management

Make sure personnel policies and procedures are followed and enforced. Make sure your employees are educated on campus policies.

I worked at Alma College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Willing to work around class schedule, nice supervisors,

    Cons

Ridiculously hard to get hired because so many students need the money, minimum wage (and often work required outside standard work hours)

    Advice to Management

More jobs overall, more opportunities for bonuses
