I have been working at Almac Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Relatively stable company given the current situation in NI

    Cons

Management in Almac is a disgrace. The HR team are run by management and are not impartial. Very cliquey company. Anyone outside the local area is classed as an outsider and will be treated as such. Annual pay review “PMP” is an absolute disgrace. Managers give personal opinions of their staff instead of how they are actually doing their job. Employees have no support from management and will hang you given the... first opportunity. Bullying and harassment is rife in Pharma Services. Senior management turn a blind eye to the antics of managers. No work life balance at all. Staff are put under enormous pressure and told to get on with it or get out. Company is unrecognisable since the death of its founder Sir Alan.

    Advice to Management

Read the human acts right and start treating people with dignity and respect. It is one of your core values after all. Bring in consultants to the HR department and maybe you will have a half decent HR team. HR need to realise they are dealing with human beings instead of ruling with an iron rod have a bit of respect for people. Promote people to management levels when they are actually fit to be mangers.

I have been working at Almac Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good Job security, positive management in general, welcoming, company ethos is extremely positive, workload not excessive so stress levels low

    Cons

Pay lower than other companies, qualifications not taken into consideration when taking in a job. Some will be promoted based on time served rather than qualifications

    Advice to Management

Pay according to qualifications/experience not time served

I worked at Almac Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent learning program, good opportunity when coming from school

    Cons

Low salary, no real reward on the performance, priority given to native people for promotion

    Advice to Management

Assess skills of your employees to not train them and let them leave because the salary is peanuts. Do some decent propositions.
