I worked at Almac Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good Health Insurance Decent Time off

    Cons

Long Hours including weekends because of Aggressive Schedules Project timelines are not accurate No help from Management Senior people are put on Performance improvement plans for no or poor reasons Some managers do no or little work farming out their work to their subordinates who already have full schedules Low pay compared to the average

    Advice to Management

Since it takes many months to train people, what is the rationale of abusing your workers? They eventually will leave. You lose in the long run.

I have been working at Almac Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Decent Benefits 20 days PTO, 4 days sick/float leave Co-workers are helpful You can work remotely two days a week

    Cons

    - Shorter timelines which are unattainable to finish complex and long projects. You get 4/5 weeks to complete 8 weeks of work. - Very high workload. Scheduling team makes sure you have work for 8 hours everyday (read 10 hours). LOE is given as 40 hours for work which would take 50 hours. Means you are expected to work nights and weekends. - Low pay for the amount of work you do - Very stressful, more work in less... time add stress. - Not allowed to pursue other opportunities in the company because you are needed in your current role. -Manager has a right, not to approve your PTO during summer months when projects come in high volume - Blame game is rampant. Even if you have completed 20 projects with out any UAT findings but one project has any issue, it goes against you in performance review. -no communication with in team members as people are overloaded with work and have no time. -company cares about making money, not about employees. - No promotions for 3/4 years. - No work- life balance - Managers in general are not encouraging. - Employees here looks like robots with low battery.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees or I must say, treat your employees like human beings. They are being treated as machines in auto pilot mode. All experienced and good employees are leaving but management is not affected by this. Management says, company will hire more people. Please give some realistic timelines to clients while winning projects.

I have been working at Almac Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

25 days of vacation is the one good thing and some nice talented people.

    Cons

Zero management low pays. Hires fresh graduates and put them straight on complex projects which is causing more chaos. Testing department is the worst hit. Level 2 testers are Group leaders who have no knowledge of managing. This is causing demotivation among senior testers. New positions are created so everyone wants to bring change or say show that they are inventing good process. In total it is a mess of... organization and a bunch of demotivation senior testers led by leaders who have no clue how to manage. Crazy timelines which are unable attainable.

I worked at Almac Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Cafeteria; Gym on site, Friendly co-workers, great benefits and salary compensation. Very interesting industry to work for. Friendly CEO that makes an effort to meet his employees face to face and doesn't see everyone as a number. The HR dept is also very friendly and outgoing

    Cons

No work life balance. Management expects those to work long hours and also expect to work on the weekends. With unrealistic Client demands this caused a lot of work stress. As soon as you leave work you're logging in from home to continue working. Within the first month I was working, there was about 5 people had quit. The majority of those that were working there were with the company less than a year. This could... mean company growth, but could also mean company turnover

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a better structure of how to handle projects that were promised to the clients with unrealistic deadlines and still expect good quality results

I worked at Almac Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Line manager had real people skills and provided great support Great mentoring from team members Lovely people to work with Hard work is recognized, laziness is reprimanded Benefits i.e. holiday leave, westfield health insurance, perks card were good Flexi-time was excellent Good processes in place

    Cons

Salary, even after promotions are noncompetitive Office was ancient and need new premises, very unhygienic Project managers do not seem to understand the concept of an estimate

    Advice to Management

Lower management are fine but upper management set stupid policies in place in regards to promotional pay. Lower management need to be given more room to offer better salary increases and promotions. Salaries are so abysmally noncompetitive to industry standards that I surprised people stay when they can get seriously better offers elsewhere.
