I have been working at Almac Group full-time

    Pros

Can be relatively lax if you get one of the good managers.

    Cons

This used to be a great company to work at. The founder Sir Allen Mcclay believed in the Almac family. Year by year since his passing the company becomes more and more like the rest. Terrible management with a few exceptions. Employees are treated like they are expendable and pay is lower than other pharma. Don't waste your time here, just go and apply to another pharma. You'll end up there anyway. You'll get told in the beginning that there is endless opportunity here, and there is technically. The party they don't tell you is that because they are constantly under staffed, you won't be allowed to pursue opportunities because you are needed in your current role.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and listen to their needs. Stop the revolving door of fed up employees.

I worked at Almac Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and pay, the co-workers were very helpful.

    Cons

The position was overwhelming, very stressful and demanding. A lot of micromanagement, along with much negativity. Note that not all managers did this but the good ones were few and far between. To give them their due, they were also overworked and stressed. I worked long hours with no positive feedback. Also you can't have a sense of humor there.

    Advice to Management

Offer more positive feedback, stage the training, so some of it occurs after the PM gets into the job. Also, start PMs as Associates for 6 months to a year, working with a full PM, so that they have a real chance to learn the job.

I have been working at Almac Group (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers, nice office setting, decent benefits. Nice to work for a company that helps with advancing human health

    Cons

Different rules apply to different groups. Some can work remotely, some can't. Technology is very far behind compared to competitors. Definite vibe that it's all about who you know, not what you know. Favoritism is rampant

I have been working at Almac Group full-time

    Pros

All employees are given generous vacation packages and your coworkers are nice to work with. The Souderton facility is also very nice.

    Cons

Group Leaders are allowed to keep their job despite having no job specific knowledge. The company is so far behind in hiring that they threatened to halt all promotions and transfers. You are expected to work weekends and nights to cover the extra work created from all the people leaving. Since everyone is salary, there is no overtime pay for this extra work.
All promotions if they do happen are preallocated even before the interviews start as the managers have already picked their favorites.

    Advice to Management

The upper management has promised that they are looking into making changes, but that has yet to happen. The best employees continue to leave, but management does not believe it is their fault.
