I have been working at Almac Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Great PTO plan. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Most of the development is based on your knowledge of the hacked together codebase. People are being threatened with being fired for even suggestions better solutions. Not the type of place a true developer would enjoy working for. They expect long hours because they hire incompetent design managers that will be paid higher than you. They'll often ask you to work overtime because of last minute design changes that you begged to be updated weeks ago. Salaries are lower than the market rate and employees who've been there usually have lower salaries than employees just starting. Your manager will take credit for what you do while being absent during projects. If you become reliable they'll take advantage of you. 100% of the work is done by 20% of the employees . Because they don't pay developers they are often looking to fill 7-8 slots and asking the current staff to work overtime.

I have been working at Almac Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Easy commute. And that's it.

    Cons

Almac is the worst company to work for. Extremely long hours required and expected with little compension in regular pay, little bonus if at all, not much in terms of working up the ladder. And they dump work on you, then have the nerve to offer you to leave early for a holiday, when they pretty much expect you to work overtime to get the job done. Run from here as fast as you can and don't look back! They originally said they have a work/family balance which doesn't exist at all. You are an Almac slave. I would rate zeros if it was an option.

I have been working at Almac Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits, great people. Company has seen good growth but career advancement is limited. Good for entry level into industry. Management seems to actually care about you.

    Cons

Lack of leadership. No where to move up. Pay is below average. Work long hours to get things done and you can be paged anytime. Favoritism can be seen.

I have been working at Almac Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - No one micro manages you - Fun working environment - Sometimes difficult work but you learn a lot in the process - Small office environment for a big company - Helpful co-workers - Great Management

    Cons

    - Politics from clients, but hey all jobs have that - Sometimes long hours - Overall it's a fantastic company to work for if you have a positive attitude. The company looks out for you as long as you look out for the company. Compared to my last job this company is so amazing and I'm so lucky to say I work for them.

I worked at Almac Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Cafeteria; Gym on site, Friendly co-workers, great benefits and salary compensation. Very interesting industry to work for. Friendly CEO that makes an effort to meet his employees face to face and doesn't see everyone as a number. The HR dept is also very friendly and outgoing

    Cons

No work life balance. Management expects those to work long hours and also expect to work on the weekends. With unrealistic Client demands this caused a lot of work stress. As soon as you leave work you're logging in from home to continue working. Within the first month I was working, there was about 5 people had quit. The majority of those that were working there were with the company less than a year. This could mean company growth, but could also mean company turnover

I worked at Almac Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Nice Office Work-space. Great coworkers always willing to help. Number of PTO days are good.

    Cons

This was once a great company to work for, however, things have taken a turn for the worse after the founder of the organization passed away. Incredible Work loads, timelines and delivery dates keep changing. Management totally disconnected from ground realities and very dictatorial. Sit in their closet offices look at metrics all day, seldom come out to meet the employees doing the real work. Institute more layers of rules and tasks unrelated to your job description further compounding the stress levels. There is total insensitivity and disregard for the employees' opinions. Every meeting there is something new to increase workload. The company is doing relatively well financially, yet the resourcing is not adequate. Trying to do more with less will not work according to the law of diminishing returns, and eventually quality will suffer. Employees are facing burnout, working long hours, even having to work on their Paid Time Off. Motivation levels are low. Many good Workers have left.

I worked at Almac Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free tea and coffee, good canteen. Nothing else positive to say about this company, this place nearly made me mentally ill.

    Cons

Long hours, incompetent management, no training, long hours, threatening behaviour from line manager, spying on employees instead of supporting them to do their job.
