    Pros

Compensated well for the work you do, always patients to see so you don't go with a great paycheck. Great teamwork.

    Cons

Hard work life balance. With home health there is alot of paperwork that has to be done after seeing patients.

I have been working at Almost Family full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I truly enjoy coming to work every day. I work with a great team and I believe that the work that I am doing here is helping the company overall. My manager and director are exceptional. I have never worked for anyone like them before. They really care about their employees and making them feel as though they are valued. There is room for advancement within the department which is encouraging and motivates me to want to grow here.

    Cons

Although my team is great and I have no issues with the way anything is handled within our group I feel as though I am not truly valued by upper management. We are definitely more growth and business oriented rather than employee oriented. I don't feel as though the office truly values their employees or trusts them. If you have a set time to come in make sure that you are coming in either before or right at that time and leaving no earlier than you are to leave. There will be people watching you every second to make sure you are not being flexible with your work schedule. There are a lot of rules that you need to adhere to. I don't want to say that I am against rules and regulations but when you have so many it makes it seem as though you do not trust your employees. Coming from previous employers that were very flexible and gave their employees more freedom, I feel like this upper management is living a bit behind the times in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

By giving your employees more freedom and flexibility they will enjoy their working environment even more and want to stay. Generational expectations of the workforce are changing and I would hope that management would take that into consideration when looking at their policies and procedures. If you cant even give your employees a casual Friday, I don't think you will be willing to give your employees any other incentives. By giving employees incentives to work toward they will be even more encouraged to go above and beyond for you. Times are changing and I hope that you take the time to make some minor changes along with them in order to keep your employees happy.

I worked at Almost Family full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Non micro-management . salary was adequate. Provided necessary tools to do job.

    Cons

No communication. upper management lacked experience to make key decisions. Did not take IT support serious and laid off the most experienced IT support team. 25 years behind the IT curve. For example, no video conferencing available. This would decrease the need for travel and the expense. Hired non experienced people to replace experienced to save a buck. Poor communication

    Advice to Management

Stop surrounding yourself with "Yes man and women" and get real talent to help your company grow. Hire on experience not because you can save a buck. Make sure the people you hire CAN DO THE JOB! Not just answer the phone and set up a ticket that Will Never BE WORKED.. Listen to those who know.

I have been working at Almost Family full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Support for ongoing education, appreciation for doing your best and open lines of communication have been highlights of my time in this organization. The leadership here is very different from other companies I have worked for, not only do they ask for feedback on how things are going, they set plans in place based on the information from employees and address concerns constructively as part of their mission and values plan. My immediate supervisor is the best I've had in 30 years in healthcare.

    Cons

in healthcare, we work long hours, here it is rewarded with additional pay and time off when needed, they take care to guard against burnout

    Advice to Management

Improve company match in the 401k program and better advise on how employees can participate in company growth would be beneficial

I have been working at Almost Family part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Expected flexibility in schedule (not necessarily). Paid travel time, although less than client wages.

    Cons

Low pay. Do not know co-workers or fully allow to engage in company (which may help retain HHA's).

    Advice to Management

Raise wages for HHA/STNA. Get us more involved in the office and with co-workers.
