I have been working at Almost Family (More than 8 years)

    Pros

My co-workers are wonderful people. I have to type 20 words here and can't think of any other pros. I have gained experience in healthcare which can be valuable.

    Cons

This is a military like environment. There is so much structure you are suffocating. Even the "fun" activities are closely monitored and you can't relax. This place is the poster child for micromanagement.

    Advice to Management

If I thought it would help I would provide advice. I have frequently expressed my concerns to my supervisor but they have fallen on deaf ears. I am looking for a new position since nothing else is working.

I have been working at Almost Family full-time

    Pros

Used to have a great reputation and care about people.

    Cons

    Greed. Declining patient satisfaction.
No concern for the front line employees at all.
Appalling lack of leadership at local levels.

    Advice to Management

Listen to "lowly" clinical staff and other employees. Staffing matrix is unreasonable and pay sub par.
Morale is dead-people leaving in droves.
Hire directors who can lead and not just say yes to every corporate mandate.
    Start caring about employees again.

Posh with a price. Awesome place lots of construction taking over the building, buying meals for many

    Cons

Management unprepared to cut it. . 90% of the staff has been there less than a year. REDFLAG WARNING!!!! RUN! Its a political racket with a nice breakroom & a big taxpayer budget

    Advice to Management

ask questions! if you dont feel like doing your job, no worries. You were a warm body just like me & will keep your job as long as you meet a body count. Cheers to feeling better about your job security

Nothing good to say. Waste of time and energy.

    Cons

Disorganized. They can't keep track of their own employees. They can't give accurate number of RNs or LPNs

    Advice to Management

Get your act together. This organization is a laughingstock.

    Pros

I enjoyed spending time with the patients and getting to know them, which made the job tolerable. Good not to have to work in an office

    Cons

No support or teamwork. Management didn't seem to care about the patients, cared more about saving and making money. Would not recommend working for this company.

I worked at Almost Family full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Base salary was competitive bonus structure was awful . Loved helping seniors stay in there home longer being a advocate for them . Great clinicians that really care about going above and beyond to care for seniors

    Cons

Most upper mgmt have no clue how to motivate there staff . Too many chiefs in management and everyone is singing a different tune ! You can not get any help from anyone except your peers . Numbers are unrealistic and If by chance you do make them they will be raised every time and make you completely unmotivated .

    Advice to Management

No advice . Nothing ever worked and losing great employees didn't make any difference to them either !

    Pros

Coworkers are the only thing that is good and it's a paycheck upper management plays favorites in the Dayton Ohio office

    Cons

Middle and upper management are clueless. They expect too much that isn't realistic, but if your friends with the director you can do no wrong, he'll cover for you. Just bring him lunch

    Advice to Management

Do the csm job for a week and see how hard it is to do everything you want done. Pay overtime since you MAKE us stay late
