    Pros

Helping clients, most caregivers are very hard working, good pto benefits, getting to learn something new every day, my director is pretty good

    Cons

Benefits are expensive, high turnover for caregivers, caregivers get low pay and no raises, favoritism, the system is very old, too much paper, clients should be able to pay online.

    Advice to Management

Update your systems, let local branches do their own billing, and let customers get their statements and pay their bills online for goodness sakes!

    Pros

Investment in current employees by sponsoring activities. Lunch, Kentucky Kingdom.

    Cons

Lack of team work. Failure to return emails or calls in a timely matter unless cc your supervisor. Old technology, but getting better. Too much dependency on excel and paper.

    Advice to Management

Invest in technology, employee retainment, employee-supervisor reviews and provide annual raises.

I worked at Almost Family full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Non micro-management . salary was adequate. Provided necessary tools to do job.

    Cons

No communication. upper management lacked experience to make key decisions. Did not take IT support serious and laid off the most experienced IT support team. 25 years behind the IT curve. For example, no video conferencing available. This would decrease the need for travel and the expense. Hired non experienced people to replace experienced to save a buck. Poor communication

    Advice to Management

Stop surrounding yourself with "Yes man and women" and get real talent to help your company grow. Hire on experience not because you can save a buck. Make sure the people you hire CAN DO THE JOB! Not just answer the phone and set up a ticket that Will Never BE WORKED.. Listen to those who know.

I have been working at Almost Family full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    its a pay check.

    Cons

Used to be a lot better but now its awful. Management wants communication but none given. A lot favoritism some clinicians are treated very well cause they "suck up" while others who do a good job and don't suck up are treated very unfairly. Clinicians being punished by not being fully compensated (salaried employee) when they don't reach prod(number quota of patients per week) so they take earned time, or vacation days away. But again not for those who suck up. (side note i believe its illegal to do that if a clinician is available and work not given to them, I could be wrong though maybe i should call my states AG office) No work life balance. HcHb is awful. Oasis have to answer the same damn question like 4 times. Meds not pre populated or missing on Hchb. So at times I and other clinicians have to enter 20-30 meds (and more) Very time consuming. I could go on, but whatever

    Advice to Management

Start acting like Almost Family or change the name to Used to be Family

    Pros

Close nit family-like company. Good pay!

    Cons

Extremely disorganized. No consistency when it came to conflict-resolution. Very disrespectful nurses with horrible attitudes.. company was a revolving door.

    Advice to Management

Ensure everyone in upper level management is on the same page regarding company policies Ensure these guidelines are being followed at all times. The same company policies should apply to everyone. Too much change and inconsistency results in chaos and low morale.

I have been working at Almost Family part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very relax job,pay is fair, I enjoy working around my schedule

    Cons

Management changes often, pay fluctuates, no room to move up, no pay per mileage, no feedback

    Advice to Management

If employees want to move up within the company let them. Don't keep introducing new employees or you will lose the ones who actually want to stay with the company

I have been working at Almost Family full-time

    Pros

    The pay is okay.

    Cons

Some managers are close-minded. Poor training for the clinicians. There is no reimbursement for education. Mileage reimbursement is far below government standard. Missed reviews, no pay raises or tiny ones that are not even worth the paper generated for them. The company is in the Age of Dinosaurs with technology, social media and departments seem pitted against each other. No teamwork. Everyone passes the buck.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times, people. Stop taking forever to make decisions! Why are you making big fliers that NO ONE uses or reads? Competition doesn't wait for us-we are getting smashed from every angle. Some offices around here don't even take managed care insurance and the SNFs and hospitals are fed up with AFam because of that.
