    Pros

Compensated well for the work you do, always patients to see so you don't go with a great paycheck. Great teamwork.

    Cons

Hard work life balance. With home health there is alot of paperwork that has to be done after seeing patients.

I have been working at Almost Family full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I truly enjoy coming to work every day. I work with a great team and I believe that the work that I am doing here is helping the company overall. My manager and director are exceptional. I have never worked for anyone like them before. They really care about their employees and making them feel as though they are valued. There is room for advancement within the department which is encouraging and motivates me to want to grow here.

    Cons

Although my team is great and I have no issues with the way anything is handled within our group I feel as though I am not truly valued by upper management. We are definitely more growth and business oriented rather than employee oriented. I don't feel as though the office truly values their employees or trusts them. If you have a set time to come in make sure that you are coming in either before or right at that time and leaving no earlier than you are to leave. There will be people watching you every second to make sure you are not being flexible with your work schedule. There are a lot of rules that you need to adhere to. I don't want to say that I am against rules and regulations but when you have so many it makes it seem as though you do not trust your employees. Coming from previous employers that were very flexible and gave their employees more freedom, I feel like this upper management is living a bit behind the times in my opinion.

    Advice to Management

By giving your employees more freedom and flexibility they will enjoy their working environment even more and want to stay. Generational expectations of the workforce are changing and I would hope that management would take that into consideration when looking at their policies and procedures. If you cant even give your employees a casual Friday, I don't think you will be willing to give your employees any other incentives. By giving employees incentives to work toward they will be even more encouraged to go above and beyond for you. Times are changing and I hope that you take the time to make some minor changes along with them in order to keep your employees happy.

I have been working at Almost Family full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, great co-workers, understanding managers, training opportunities, rewards and perks throughout the year, and financial rewards are comparable or more than other agencies.

    Cons

Have been some difficulties with various issues due to reliance on paper records and handwritten paperwork can be tedious.

    Advice to Management

Often times some of the field staff seem frustrated due to long drive times and increasing paperwork. I don't know if there are further incentives or rewards to help them feel more motivated and less overworked and stretched.
