    Pros

There is opportunity there if you know how to play the political game, exchange in quid pro quo with management and look out for them while hopefully leaving enough time to get your own back. You can have a long successful career.

    Cons

That career can come to a halt at a moments notice. Management does not understand company policies and frequently violate them themselves, however when management violates policy it is either ignored or the entire department get offered training on what should have been done. If an employee violates company policy unknowingly, management will say they were trained, that they have had a long practice to the contrary, all of which is untrue but they would rather see 3-5 employees get fired for there lack of understanding then go through another training if they can successfully pass the buck. I have seen 10 year loyal supervisory level employees fired at a moments notice to save department managers one more embarrassment.

    Advice to Management

Defend loyal employees and stand up for what is right, your reputation may take a hit right away but it is better then having current employees working against you looking for anything they can turn into HR or internal audit so that one day you will get what is coming to you.

I worked at Alsco full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A paycheck that didn't bounce. Close to home, company car with little incurred cost for employee. Probably, the highest industry commission rate

    Cons

Horrible management as they are inept. They lost a huge sales opportunity for me because of changing an already set appointment. My territory was cut in half in 6 months instead of a year like they said in the interview. No vacation accumulated until after a year of service. Not an 8-5 job you have enter data or do proposals on your off time which could add 2 more hours to the work day. Equipment doesn't work well and is outdated. Unrealistic expectations and goals. If you don't meet quota you will be fired! This job is a revolving door. Only take a job with this company if you have no other choice.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire people from competitors just for a short stint and hope to get the business they work on . Get new management, Management is inept as they lost a huge opportunity for me, because an appointment was cancelled after it involved 3 people to set it up. The buyer didn't want to deal with us anymore because we wasted his time and he perceived us to not be serious.
