    Pros

Alsco is a good company, good benefits

    Cons

Portland Office is allowing a couple of employees to be bullies, verbally abusive to other employees, not a good trainer

    Advice to Management

I worked at Alsco full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A paycheck that didn't bounce. Close to home, company car with little incurred cost for employee. Probably, the highest industry commission rate

    Cons

Horrible management as they are inept. They lost a huge sales opportunity for me because of changing an already set appointment. My territory was cut in half in 6 months instead of a year like they said in the interview. No vacation accumulated until after a year of service. Not an 8-5 job you have enter data or do proposals on your off time which could add 2 more hours to the work day. Equipment doesn't work well and is outdated. Unrealistic expectations and goals. If you don't meet quota you will be fired! This job is a revolving door. Only take a job with this company if you have no other choice.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire people from competitors just for a short stint and hope to get the business they work on . Get new management, Management is inept as they lost a huge opportunity for me, because an appointment was cancelled after it involved 3 people to set it up. The buyer didn't want to deal with us anymore because we wasted his time and he perceived us to not be serious.

I have been working at Alsco full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pays the minimum wage as they have to
Working for Alsco makes you a better person as you strive to be unlike some of the management

    Cons

Possibly one of the worst companies to work for .Walmart is a better option , staff morale is low & most employees scheme of escaping this poorly managed, outdated backward company.
Advancement is non existent if you are a intelligent ,hard working & successful. Nepotism runs high. If you are part of the managements "boys club" & you are related ,a bigot, racist, enjoy bullying ,unqualified ,inept, lazy ,a drunk & dishonest YOUR IN.( Being a redneck helps )
Some management spend most days creating ways to rip off customers ,reinventing invoice numbers & inventing new charges Bullying customers w legal threats is a common trait. Business practices are related to managements bonus & "What's in it for me" is mandate in this dysfunctional organization ,
Training is virtually non existent & job satisfaction is low , Walmart is a better option.

    Advice to Management

No advice as you cant change or influence stupid or ignorant folks .

I worked at Alsco full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people that actually work inside the branches are great individuals and are truly there to work hard.

    Cons

Senior Leadership (from Regional Managers Up) have no idea what truly goes on at a local level. They spend too much time in Salt Lake City without paying attention to their branches needs. The hours for a DM, SM and GM if you want to be successful within alsco are no less then 70 hours a week but the pay will not reflect that.

    Advice to Management

Look for younger talent instead of promoting your employees just because they have been there for 20 plus years. Alsco is stuck in the past and refuses new ideas and talent.

I have been working at Alsco full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Independence/alone time, decent pay and health benefits (union job), lots of driving (if that's your thing)

    Cons

    Long monotonous shifts daily.
Management loves to pass the buck
Company refuses to let RSRs access company account database even though their job requires access (you have to call the office if you want any information)
Still doing everything on paper when job could be so much simpler if we used tablets

    Advice to Management

Switch from physical paperwork to doing everything electronically. It's absolutely ridiculous how many forms need to be filled out properly to make and changes to an account.

Current Employee - Load Builder in Salt Lake City, UT

    Pros

Their checks clear, & they allow overtime weekly. The hours are decent 5a-230p m-f. No weekend work normally, only worked 1 saturday in 1 year.

    Cons

Long hours, short breaks & limited pay rate. The working conditions are extremely unpleasant: very hot & humid, limited tools in which to help perform tasks, & lots of hard & physical work to be completed. there are never any words of encouragement from management, only micro managing & next task to be completed. No benefits for 6 months & no PTO for 1 year.

    Advice to Management

Be more supportive to the employee pool. especially to the employees that go above & beyond, every day, all day. Get more tools in which employees can complete tasks, & be more productive.
