I worked at AltaMed full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

      Cons

-they will work you to the ground -if you are in an exempt position, good luck- you will be working well over 50 hours/week -very manager heavy- so many leaders across organization, leads to too many hands in the pot -needs greater alignment across org-too many departments work in silos -so many initiatives going on that don't necessarily align to where the organization is going-becomes difficult to talk about projects...

      Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Pay attention to organization alignment when launching new initiatives. Have the right people in the room for conversations rather than most executive leaders that do not know what is going on ground level. Cut the thousand meetings per day, there is a way to lean that process. We live in a world with technology. Empower your employees to represent the organization appropriately. Have some...

I have been working at AltaMed full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Love the company mission, benefits and chance to impact patient lives.

      Cons

Certain departments are very toxic to deal with and work for. Managers and supervisors practice bully culture by managing down, intimidate, discriminate, and harassing staff they dislike or find threatening because of good performance. Office gossip and inappropriate relationships between managers and staff must stop. Department leadership provides little to no guidance, leadership, staff development and consistently...

      Advice to Management

HR needs to step up and get rid of toxic managers that shouldn't be in leadership positions. If complaints and high department turnovers aren't a tell tale sign then perhaps HR needs to receive additional training on employee relations. Every staff ought to be reviewed for performance, education and professional qualification to eliminate nepotism and non-qualified individuals currying favors to obtain high level positions....
