    Pros

You learn a lot of things every day, every hour, and every second. Everyone is very knowledgable. You can just learn by talking to people.

    Cons

Everyone is so smart. Management will not listen if you have new ideas. It takes time to prove yourself in the company

    Advice to Management

I would say just keep going! What ever you are doing is going great :)

    Pros

A lot depends on the team you work for, this is the single most important factor.
Work is not hectic for most of the year and stress is not a concern. However it does spike up once in a while close to tapeout dates. Good pay and good benefits are offered. There is no micromanagement. for the most part.
Senior management seems to know where they want to be in the next two years. Most of the projects planning is structured and well organized. You take responsibility for your actions. Communication between management and employees is average. Overall a good place.

    Cons

Slightly laid back and not very aggressive because they are already one of the two big players in their area.

    Advice to Management

    Hire young talent more regularly.

    Pros

The growth factor is huge for FPGA industry. The work environment is great. The career path is good. You get a great chance at working with something that is new. Pressure is there only when you are close to a deadline. So work/life balance is great. You get a great scope for self development in the field of Digital design.

    Cons

Sometimes due to office politics work slows down. For me personally this has very very rarely happened.

    Advice to Management

Have some great employee "know each other" events so that people can get to know persons from some other teams.

    Pros

Company has an excellent business and compensation is quite good. Lots of interesting problems to work on.

    Cons

But workforce morale is pretty low, and it is becoming more of a politically charged place as opposed to striving for engineering excellence.

    Advice to Management

Don't believe upper management has the ability to learn from and effectively correct the mistakes Altera has made in the past.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Altera full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Management is taken very seriously. When a manager leaves they will take their time to find the perfect fit. Sometimes this can take a little too long but it's worth it in the end. I've had several managers here and each of them are accommodating and care about my progress professionally and technically. They encourage you to follow your passion even if it means leaving their team.
The work is challenging, interesting, and everyone is willing to help out. Cross functional collaboration is simple and easy. Everyone is punctual and professional as well. Food is pretty good, there are activities to distract yourself when you need a break, and the company is headed in a good direction. Salary and benefits are competitive.

    Cons

Sometimes I get the feeling that management is not transparent at all. They can be difficult to read.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to tell me what I'm doing wrong. It will help me grow in the right direction.
