    Pros

Altera work on some very interesting problems, and apply their FPGAs into a variety of different industries, so very good variety in that regard

    Cons

I was assigned quite an experimental project, which felt open ended but felt like the engineers I was in contact with were just guiding me through a 10 week long tutorial. The tools they produce are also very difficult to use

    Advice to Management

Hire some skilled software developers to make your tools more intuitive, which will allow other employees to waste less time reading documentation just to get something basic running.
