I worked at Altera full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People were great. Lots of camoradorie

    Cons

President was an introverted know it all. Prided himself on remembering every negative thing about employees. Horrible at employee morale building

    Advice to Management

Realize that "seasoned" employees have a lot to offer. Quit "pushing out" older employees via severance agreements that had a lot of valuable experience.

I worked at Altera as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great hours, great personable employees, great learning experience. I really enjoyed my time here! I would recommend to anyone looking to learn about finance in practice and meet a solid establishment that is successful.

    Cons

Company was merging so the amount of work for a new intern was very low. Not a lot of tasks I could complete. Felt like I was mooching little bit. Still great!

    Advice to Management

Establish more tasks that interns can do. Nothing else really. Ability to do one on one meetings with anyone on staff was really helpful, nice touch.
