I worked at Altior full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company was a start-up/turnaround situation. The prior co-founders had innovated interesting technology (Compiler), but did not care about the market opportunity. The efforts were more of sand-box operations rather than build a company. The new CEO, who was earlier an investor, turned the company around - created new products and most importantly had brought a market focus, with real customers. The CEO led from the front, assembled a great team, and fostered a meritocratic culture. When the acquisition offers were presented, he ensured that almost all of the employees were retained by the acquirer. Looking back, it was a great place to learn, a collegial culture, and most importantly taught why it better to give than take!

    Cons

Work pressure was tremendous....it felt like changing a tire when the bus moving at 100MPH...

    Advice to Management

Pls try to assemble the same team again if you are planning to start another HW company!!!

    Pros

Any buyer is a good deal for Altior because (a) someone may invest in buying their software, a snake oil type thing, but it will not benefit the buyer and (b) all solid tech people at altior left years ago. rj will be exposed some day certainly but sadly would bring down others with him too. The company already lost money for 2m due to evil brown noser and willfully misleading rj.

    Cons

No use of standard and recommended business processes and norms not limited to only using software without proper licenses

I have been working at Altior full-time

    Pros

small size with not much work. It is run by a chief executive officer who threw away most of the people who had built the product. He is an expert at masking his serious shortcomings and personal issues and good at playing the investors, most of the times dishonestly and through dubious means, by misinforming them about other people's work. The striking thing about the company operations is that it is being done with impunity by the person in charge of company's execution breaking many laws in the process. It would not be surprising if this place goes down badly on multiple fronts

    Cons

nothing holding it. It is my correct assessment based on my experience of decades in the industry

    I worked at Altior full-time

    Pros

This small business is slowly closing out. The business is trying to salvage what little they have left by selling their worthless IP piecemeal. There is no engineering left in this place despite what the salesman type guy, if any remaining, will have you believe.

    Cons

Rich investors made a mistake by handing money to a character less CEO. The CEO is a snake at its core. Now the CEO is running around trying to save himself by blaming everyone else.

I have been working at Altior full-time

    Pros

    - good if you want to be a sitting duck for being pushed out at any time without notice

    Cons

A defining characteristic of this place is its treatment of many committed employees over the years as the company became a money sink. Many good people with strong engineering background were taken for a ride by the vc ceo. This ceo driven by greed of status to protect his own standing in the eyes of his investors treated many employees in a way that is best described as unethical. If the ceo were emotionally mature he could have avoided a lot of bloodshed and harm to decent people. However, driven by unfounded arrogance resulting from his own lack of experience, dis-ingenuousness, and lack of intellect, he caused harm to both people and business.
