    I worked at Altrec.com full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Inclusive management philosophy, very open book, very nice people. Benefits were great! Lots of cross functional work and exposure. I learned a lot about business and ecommerce from the team. Lots of legitimate experts in their respective fields.

    Cons

Keep cycling through the same problems without stopping to figure out why something didn't work. Just moved on to the next project that was sure to solve the problem.

    Advice to Management

Great values, solid team. Need to work on listening and learning.

    Pros

Cool gear and apparel and great people hired there.

    Cons

    Leadership was inexperienced and unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

Should have had budgets and fiscal responsibility and honest, clear communications. You can't just call people "temps" to avoid providing benefits to full time workers who have been there for years.

    Pros

The people were great to work with, very knowledgable and friendly. Dog culture also great.

    Cons

Could have greater emphasis on innovation and distinguishing from the competition.

  4. "Too many "managers" ratio to employees. The managers, leads do not have experience leading people."

I have been working at Altrec.com full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

CFO CEO have good intentions however they do not oversee leads in the Distribution Center.

    Cons

In order to move up in the last 6 months you must compromise integrity or kiss a little a.......all know this is true within the DC environment. The best leads and management have left the company.

    Advice to Management

    Do not compromise morals

    Pros

    - Is in the outdoor industry, which is a fantastic group of people.
    - Has a really great group of people working at Altrec.
    - Is located in Central Oregon.
    - Provides a seemingly good job for hourly employees, however unstable.

    Cons

    - Little to no opportunity for career growth
    - Poor work/life balance for most non-hourly employees
    - Does not provide competitive benefits
    - Enforces it's non-compete agreement in an overbearing and unethical manner
    - Not staffing the company in a manner to support the business

    Pros

A great collection of good people.

    Cons

There are still some growing pains and legacy systems that can be difficult to work with.

    Advice to Management

The IT Department is still in the process of moving to a more corporate/enterprise mindset, but it is moving that way. Keep up the good work.
