I have been working at Altria full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Very competitive salary and benefits
    Many growth opportunities
The people are amazing, many of my co-works have become like family

    Cons

None you wouldn't have anywhere else. Hours can be long sometimes making it tough for work/life balance. Same exact thing every company has.

    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The autonomy, the benefits, the fact that it's technically a sales job but there is no commission (but there is an annual bonus that is basically guaranteed).

    Cons

The bureaucracy within sales, HQ, legal, finance and how they all work together is a mess. It's a highly regulated industry so there are many limitations. Who your management team determines basically everything. There are a lot of politics at play so you either need to play the game or you're one of the rebels. There is a lot of 'flavor of the day' fire drills. Things that people are obsessing over today may be irrelevant tomorrow.

    Advice to Management

Too much to fit in this little box.

I have been working at Altria full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Altria's efforts to recruit and retain top talent show. The Altria Field Sales Force is full of talented and motivated individuals.

    Cons

Altria can be quite political. Getting promoted has a lot to do with how you market yourself. You have to make sure your hard work gets noticed.

    Advice to Management

Look beyond just university recruits when evaluating within the organization who may have the potential to promote.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I worked at Altria as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learning how to implement strategy helps a lot in an interview.

    Cons

You work for a cancer stick company. Intern's opinions are not valued highly

    Advice to Management

Have different internships for the same company (finance, investment, trading, etc.)
