    Pros

The accounts teams are small enough where you are able to build strong relationship with the operations lead and the account manager. Your role is fluid in the sense you get some exposure to operations and selling directly to the customer. These are establish customers so you have to think outside the box to be successful. Great people to work with and for.

    Cons

Its a new role so they working to improve the trainings. The job is simpler of you are able to communicate with other analysts, but they are not usually in the same state, so building that relationship quickly is essential

I worked at Altria as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great developmental opportunities. The work was challenging so I learned so much and gained much insight into the industry

    Cons

The company culture is great on paper but not necessarily in every department of Altria. Everyone is very nice and welcoming but some departments are more rigid and isolated than others (I happened to be in a more rigid department structure).

    Advice to Management

Create a balanced company culture equal across all departments and not just specifically for each product category.

I worked at Altria as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people there are dedicated to your internship and want you to be successful. They treat you well during the summer.

    Cons

There were many difference and preferences among the interns. Some were lucky with there mentors while others were not.

    Advice to Management

Have a standardize internship program where all interns have similar experiences, not controlled by who their mentor is.

I have been working at Altria full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Independent work environment. Excellent ongoing development programs. Good compensation and benefits package. Top notch 401k and retirement benefits. Company car and paid expenses. Ability to make impact in local markets. Bottom up planning allows TSMs to develop their own business plans to improve results.

    Cons

TSMs often operate in silos outside of corporate environment. Tight advancement opportunities. Little room to impact annual bonus on a territory level. Structured corporate environment. While challenging the "status quo" is encouraged, changes are slow to be implemented in real time.

    Advice to Management

Seek more one on one feedback from employees. More corporate level training available to TSMs to attend workshops and instructor led classes. Focus more on logical execution of initiatives which fit into call cycle plans.
