    Pros

    Work autonomously, see your boss once or twice a month, great training in the beginning

    Cons

    Can be monotonous, always wanting you to create projects for yourself that seem tedious, have had two restructuring layoffs in only a few years, declining industry (tobacco), one way path to management/promotion which may not be the best judgement of overall skill set.

    Antiquated systems, myriad of tasks to execute, infringement on personal time to complete business tasks, difficult to move up and be recognized

    Pros

    Alot of good people to work with. Feel good culture. Job is challenging and can be a fun way to earn a living. Great benefits.

    Cons

    If a Manager is out to get you, hang on and enjoy the ride because everyone from all levels will join the parade. The lack of integrity, trust and support will astound you at that point. It will get to the point of discrimination but they will cover for each other, so watch out.

    Advice to Management

    Watch your Managers and put a stop to it when you see people being singled out and treated extremely unfairly, inches away from an EEOC discrimination complaint. Its not the rightto treat people unfairly and unjustly because a Manager has it in for somebody.

    Large geography, if you get a bad manager who only cares about themselves. You will suffer.

    -Great compensation
    -great employees
    -top notch training
    -performance is measured on how you tried to achieve something vs. what you achieved
    -premium products
    -great benefits
    -company car
    -iPad, laptop, internet and cell phone allowance
    -days go by quick
    -autonomy to run your business

    Cons

    -you have to be okay with selling cigarettes, chewing tobacco and cigars to gas stations, convienece stores, liquor stores and tobacco stores.

    Keep it up!

    Promotion process usually requires relocation. I believe they are working to improve this
    Bonus is based on a large group

    Keep finding ways to keep the talent

    Pros

    Independent work environment. Excellent ongoing development programs. Good compensation and benefits package. Top notch 401k and retirement benefits. Company car and paid expenses. Ability to make impact in local markets. Bottom up planning allows TSMs to develop their own business plans to improve results.

    Cons

    TSMs often operate in silos outside of corporate environment. Tight advancement opportunities. Little room to impact annual bonus on a territory level. Structured corporate environment. While challenging the "status quo" is encouraged, changes are slow to be implemented in real time.

    Advice to Management

    Seek more one on one feedback from employees. More corporate level training available to TSMs to attend workshops and instructor led classes. Focus more on logical execution of initiatives which fit into call cycle plans.

    Experience is not always valued. New ways of doing things but never forget the basics which is selling and relationship building .
