      Pros

PT/OT department is fabulous. Caring and hard working therapists (leadership). Patient focused staff. Flexibility between Acute and Rehab care. No career advancement.

      Cons

Cons upper management is worried about numbers and it affects people trying to provide the care in negative ways, always short staffed with nursing.I worked there for several years interviewed internally and job was given to an outsider. No loyalty to current staff. Constantly cutting budgets, benefits, raises, departments, jobs etc.

      Pros

Working with really awesome patients Good hands on experience in the medical field

      Cons

When I first started working here, I really enjoyed it, But management has become disastrous. They do not care about their staff. Always short staffed, no pay raises or ability to progress. Overworked! Unappreciated and managers don’t listen to feedback. They’re all about making money, even if it means having 1 staff member caring for way too many patients.. resulting in poor care. Managers get bonuses for being short staffed and pocket it for themselves. You’re frequently floated off your own unit to sit 1:1 with patients. I’d say go somewhere else, but it’s tough when they’re the ruling medical facility in grand forks.

      Pros

Pay is pretty good Good benefits

      Cons

There is too much gossip and if you are not in the in crowd you get talked about. No upward motion to become a manager Management is really iffy and they let their friends get away with too much Coworkers like to keep knowledge to themselves for fear of losing their job, this does not help the team and makes life harder for everyone. Always short-staffed

Thank you for your feedback and dedication to patients. We use locums so that we can ensure we are staffed appropriately to provide safe, quality patient care. Staffing needs are a reflection of the workforce needs seen in multiple industries within our state. Recruitment and retention initiatives are a top priority at Altru. Thanks again!

      Love my job!

      Pros

Many options for RN's, they promote from within, management cares for employees, all staff are treated as equals and valuable assets (from doctors to housekeeping), great team work, genuinely nice people, egalitarian culture, 4-5% yearly raises, generous PTO, supportive coworkers, nice patient population.

      Cons

Working short staffed at times. But team work and excellent comradery make it tolerable, compensation is fair but could be better.
