I have been working at Alvarion full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, fun environment, interesting and promising technology

    Cons

Got side tracked from their main mission, and then didn't keep up with the US carriers' move to LTE.

    Advice to Management

How could a company with $170 million in cash, no debt, and 850+ employees around the world when I started in late 2007, go belly-up and shut down virtually all US operations and lay-off 350-400 employees by early 2011 - it boggles the mind.

I have been working at Alvarion full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The R&D team are nice, want to succeeded and push forward the development, beside that nothing is good,
Too many employees leave in short time, very unstable work place.

    Cons

Very bad company, the management team are very poor, they know nothing about the market and the business , change their opinion every week without understanding.
Sales and marketing have no experience, they don't know the job at all

    Advice to Management

Go home, let someone else manage the company, take your stuff with you.

    Pros

If you are able to be a yes master kind of a guy and willing to dance to the tunes of people above you, it is a perfect place. You will get out of turn hikes and can retire in peace and probably get reemployed as a consultant after your super annuation

    Cons

The Managment is clue less about what they are doing. Supposed to be a technology company with virtually non existant R&D. The R&D and Product Development head used to be a Lawyer but education. Absolutely no focus on business development and clue less about where the industry is heading. Extremely over staffed with useless people.

    Advice to Management

Wake up before you sink with the ship

    Pros

Alvarion was a great company with talented people and despite it being a relatively large company there was a healthy cross-functional culture with "i can do attitude".

    Cons

Poor management decisions which lead to the downward spiral of the company. Unlikely that Alvarion will be able to regain its position in the telecommunication market as a result.

    Advice to Management

As a result of poor management decisions, a lot of people left or made redundant. Learn from your mistakes.

I worked at Alvarion full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Vey nice facilities. A lot of space and very convenient building and office services. Salary is relatively high.

    Cons

Unstable, I have worked there for 5 months, In that time my direct manager was replaced 4 times and my team members were change 3 times. The job title also changed 3 times and all in only 5 months. After that and at the 4th manager change and team change I decided to leave (and the team just earned another manager change....)

    Advice to Management

    Decide!

    Pros

Technology is great. Learning Wireless Technology such as WiMAX is cool. Over all, employee is nice to each other. The company is heading to the right path. This company will survive for a long time since they manage the company's spending and control product's cost very well.

    Cons

They are kind of cheap as employee benifit goes. But not the worst. This company is traded on Nasdaq but it runs like a foreign company. Upper managers will suddenly talk in the meeting to each other using their native language. This makes other us employee feel uncomfortable sometime.

    Advice to Management

Be fair to treat employee from different race.
