I have been working at AmWINS Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Company Culture
    Good work/life balance
    Great support from Management
    Great teamwork between peers
CEO is down to earth and friendly
    Opportunities for growth
Not a lot of politics. Just hardworking people

    Cons

None that I can think of

    Advice to Management

Would like a formal end of year review process in place. Communication of employee performance could be better. Other than that, this is a great company to work for and management does a fantastic job of supporting employees.

    Pros

Nothing good about this company at all

    Cons

Very unprofessional and unpleasant management. They don't care and don't give a s.... to new hires/new employees at all. They don't train you and you have to learn and train yourself and nobody is there to help or train you. Once you don't get a proper training after a week they ask you to leave. Very Very Very Very bad and worse and worst they are. I don't recommend anyone to apply for any type of employment even temps there.

    Advice to Management

Act like professional. Treat new hires/new employees by properly train them to get gain knowledge about your company's system and culture if there is any culture within you organization that I don't think so.

    Pros

    Great Benefits and generous PTO

    Cons

Way over-worked! Especially field employees who work from home - expected to complete too much in a certain time frame with NO overtime. Any vacation you get is ruined as soon as you return because no one else has time to cover you.

    Pros

Nice building with Windows, avg benefits, they do weird well for clients.

    Cons

Lack of job security. Management likes to pass the buck and throw people under the bus. Company treats staff as dispensible. Firing is commonplace.

    Advice to Management

Retain your staff and stop hiring only temporarily. Be kinder to loyal hard-working terrified employees.

I have been working at AmWINS Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Customers are mostly appreciative, it's nice to be able to make a difference in someone's life. The call center focused more on quality of the calls, not quantity.

    Cons

Management, lack of communication and co workers that are borderline unprofessional. "Treated like family" are only for the chosen few.

    Advice to Management

Just because someone is a temp, doesn't mean they should be talked down to.
Might be beneficial to have ALL employees take a culture training class or perhaps respect in the workplace.
The calls on a daily basis are fairly simple and because you're speaking with retirees, they are usually very grateful for someone willing to assist them.
All the cons are within the management and how they allow such disrespect to new employees. Our temp agency does nothing but rave about this company. I just wish I could say the same.

I have been working at AmWINS Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have been an underwriting assistant for AmWINS for almost a year. My impression has thus far been that although they are a large nationwide company, AmWINS treats their employees as people instead of numbers. Management keeps everyone informed of changes in operations and company procedures via email and is very thorough in these explanations. Questions are always welcomed and when communicating with staff members in the operations and technical support teams, I always receive amicable and individualized attention. The underwriters in my branch are more than willing to help the assistants learn and grow. AmWINS also encourages employees to get involved in the community and holds service outings accordingly, as well as outings for fun. Free coffee, soda and bottled water. Free breakfast once a month. Health insurance is more affordable than I've had it before. Paid time off and paid overtime.

    Cons

Although the systems are not hard to learn, technical issues do occur a bit frequently. The IT teams are constantly upgrading the systems and trying to prevent glitches, however.

    Advice to Management

Thank you and keep up the good work.

Should have a review after 90 days to adjust pay if deserved.
