I worked at AmWINS Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great hours, and with the right manager you'll be very happy. You stay busy and they have a lot planned through out the year. There is opportunity to grow. Most of the people are very friendly and fun to work with. The benefits package is great, a little expensive, but well worth it.

    Cons

Lack of appreciation for individuals. If you're a threat to them they will hold you back . The pay varies GREATLY from person to person even with the same experience. For example there'a $6k gap between myself and another person's salary although we have the same background experience. The management team in the Irving office is very ignorant and absolutely plays favorites. They don't put true value into their employees that have actual potential .

    Advice to Management

Look into your own ranks and possibly take care of the most condescending , know-it-all that sits on a high horse person that I have ever met. Multiple people have said the same thing. But as always there's no body we can talk to that won't make this come back on us regardless of the "no retaliation" policy. We all know once you have a position like say, a director, the little peons can't complain to anybody about how you talk to them. Look outside of your ranks and show some true appreciation for the people that do all the work for you. Nothing says "you're just a replacement in a line of replacements" like not giving out proper reviews with minimal raises and no explanation on anything.

I worked at AmWINS Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everything depends on your team. You will either love it or hate it.

    Cons

Benefits are great if you're sick, otherwise it's very expensive. If you are a female, plan on making 20-40% less than a man with half the experience you have. Like others have said, you will be sexually harassed in the office on multiple occasions, but HR will let it slide and never do anything to the perpetrator.

    Advice to Management

Stop turning a blind eye to everything and take care of your employees.

I have been working at AmWINS Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A lot of charity work through AmWINS PALS. Perks include monthly massages, casual days, summer hours, catered lunches, and birthday celebrations.

    Cons

Bad location (Buckhead) and some people now have to park at mall. They are not flexible with hours and PTO is only 15 days and a floating holiday. TA salary is not comparable to market. Work from home only allowed by certain people. Limited company mobility. You can't join other teams even if there is a job or an opening you want. Promotions are based on "work," but the worst people get promoted. There are no women or people of color in higher position. There are clear lines of sexism and racism and a clear "boys club." Only certain people get invited to company events or outings over and over again. There is too much partying and drinking and some people are sexual harassed by some of the men that work here and nobody does anything about it. Very little education provided and training is unstructured. They only care about the money they make and not the people that do all the behind the scenes work.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people better. Train and educate the people you have already. Pay better and fairly. Stop the excess alcohol.

I have been working at AmWINS Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Company Culture
    Good work/life balance
    Great support from Management
    Great teamwork between peers
CEO is down to earth and friendly
    Opportunities for growth
Not a lot of politics. Just hardworking people

    Cons

None that I can think of

    Advice to Management

Would like a formal end of year review process in place. Communication of employee performance could be better. Other than that, this is a great company to work for and management does a fantastic job of supporting employees.

I worked at AmWINS Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nothing good about this company at all

    Cons

Very unprofessional and unpleasant management. They don't care and don't give a s.... to new hires/new employees at all. They don't train you and you have to learn and train yourself and nobody is there to help or train you. Once you don't get a proper training after a week they ask you to leave. Very Very Very Very bad and worse and worst they are. I don't recommend anyone to apply for any type of employment even temps there.

    Advice to Management

Act like professional. Treat new hires/new employees by properly train them to get gain knowledge about your company's system and culture if there is any culture within you organization that I don't think so.

    Pros

Nice building with Windows, avg benefits, they do weird well for clients.

    Cons

Lack of job security. Management likes to pass the buck and throw people under the bus. Company treats staff as dispensible. Firing is commonplace.

    Advice to Management

Retain your staff and stop hiring only temporarily. Be kinder to loyal hard-working terrified employees.
