I worked at Amadeus Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Exposed to lots of different technologies

    Cons

    - After 6 months to a year of learning the technology stack, you will hit a brick wall with little room to grow, as this company tends to play favorites with managers rather than putting developers in a position to succeed and ensuring code / project quality.
    - Their decision-making is suspect. They overstaffed in early 2016 in response to many employees leaving, and so a number of developers were often stuck without enough work for a 40 hour week. We were essentially told to shut up and take it. Not something a self-respecting developer wants to hear.
    - The turnover rate is a red flag. I saw as many as 10 - 20 employees out the door in less than a year span, which in a company of 60-80 employees is alarmingly high.
    - Projects go over-budget fairly often and wind up being of subpar quality, due to unnecessary communication breakdowns, inadequate planning, and widespread unavailability of upper-level team members whom projects tend to be disproportionately dependent on due to the company's emphasis on process for the sake of process rather than product quality.
    - Team leads and project managers often say disparaging things about clients behind their back, sometimes even during meetings when the clients can't hear. Personally made me extremely uncomfortable but as a lowly developer felt like I could say nothing about it.
    - The HR department is useless. If somebody in upper management issues a vague, undocumented complaint about a developer, that developer is in serious jeopardy on a whim without knowing who, what, when, where, why.

    Advice to Management

So much can be avoided if you simply value the people who create your products as much as the managers.

I have been working at Amadeus Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I added this review because the "positive" reviews seemed to be embellished but overall this is a great company for entry level people

    - great experience on multiple projects at once
    - fast paced
    - your responsibilities will out weight your experience

    Cons

    - poor leadership vision
    - poor project management
    - no projects are scoped correctly which causes long hours and overworking of developers
    - favoritism runs rampant within upper management

I worked at Amadeus Consulting full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Culture and casual work environment

    Cons

Poor leadership. Despite your hard work and successful performance reviews, you could be fired a week before the holidays for no reason or without explanation. Executive team is greedy and untrustworthy.

    Advice to Management

Consider the impact your poor decision making has on your employees. Work on improving morale instead of lining your pockets all of the time.

    Pros

Being with a consulting company gives you a great chance to learn the latest and greatest technologies. Not always bleeding edge, but usually cutting edge which has its perks. I love the people I work with, which is very important to me

    Cons

Poor salaries. Bonuses can be nice, but not always guaranteed.

I have been working at Amadeus Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The culture of the company is incredible. The executive team works hard to emulate a culture of learning and respect. Executive team is very involved in day to day activities and is always interested in making changes to improve the business. The employees of Amadeus make the company an enjoyable place to work.

    Cons

The world of consulting can create cycles of busy and not busy. During the busy times it can be challenging to keep up with the work load. Executives and management are willing to provide assistance and support. During the not busy times, it can be challenging to add value or work through solutions due to the fact that all hours must be billable.

    Advice to Management

When not busy we should be working to improve our processes so that we can be more successful when busy.

    Pros

hiring to keep up with growing work load, c level listen to what their employees want/need, positive culture, always know where you stand, ceo is very involved and has monthly status meetings with everyone, open door policy with management

    Cons

benefits package and salary isnt what it would be at larger company, but the trade offs of working at a smaller company are worth it

    Advice to Management

continue communicating with your employees about your vision and plans for the future, and remember it is the "little things" that seperate you from the others and what keep your employees happy
