I worked at Amaris full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Benefits and Pay are decent if you negotiate well upfront.
    - Pretty much work independently with your client with little oversight.
    - If you have a chance to work with a great customer, you can get some great exposure.
    - Lots of travel opportunity if you're young and not tied down.

    Cons

    - Management very inconsistent (3 managers in 6 months - first one easy going and approachable, good reviews, stayed in contact. Last one never responded about offers they initiated and much stingier on raises.)
    - Lots of talk; little action from management
    - No investment in employees technical growth
    - Business development let to ride on the back of employee contacts instead of having a sales manager drum up business
    - Constant push to sell more services outside current projects when over 100% committed to a customer and didn't offer to propose ideas to alleviate workload to permit the actions.
    - Refused to invest or support existing business until technical staff generated more business.
    - If they aren't able to generate business, you're out of a job when your contract runs out.

    Advice to Management

Follow through with what you're promising.

Take a more holistic look at your markets and invest appropriately. For example, if you have a concentration of a specific type of talent, use that talent to sell more services and hire additional consultants to support current projects. In new markets, where you have no reputation you need to focus on a smaller set of services to market yourselves and support your existing consultants.

If your constantly sales pitching your own consultants, it seems like you're trying to convince them of something they should already know. If they need convincing of how "great" the company is, you're doing something wrong.

    Pros

Flat hierarchy, management trusts you to lead new initiatives
    Very entrepreneurial mindset
    Great working environment

    Cons

If you like to work in an organisation where processes are very well defined, this would probably not be the best place for you

    Pros

Takes care of people, willing to go extra mile, ready to negotiate

    Cons

still just business and hence money are first.... interview promises not always kept.. yes if project is over we pay you until we find you something but actually pretty soon after your client is over you better look yourself for something!

I worked at Amaris full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team was nice and training......that's all.

    Cons

Is a place where your opinion is not important mostly about improvements. Business based with french young graduates. Not really international Company, all the management positions are filled with French people. Not possibility to work with different languages, just with your native language. Not good salary and they don't know anything about "retain talent".

    Advice to Management

I would recommend to the CEO to follow up directly recruitment department, the problem has started there. I could say that the management in Recruitment is not human at all, starting from the highest position in that department and for that reason, we have left Amaris after been trained, because we felt not valued from your managers or director.

I have been working at Amaris full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pressure-free work; Nice co-worker; Flexible time

    Cons

Managers without technical knowledge or with management skills. I was harrassed by my manager, and the story was covered up when I decided to bring it to the higher level of management.
Discrimination. Mainly those with French nationality will be boost while others encounter "glass ceiling".
    Poor compensation.

    Advice to Management

Please employ ones with experience. I am tired of totally fresh management.

    I worked at Amaris full-time

    Pros

    Nice colleagues to share difficulties
    International environment
External communication & marketing are excellent (but it's also a cons because they create a lie)

    Cons

    - They have a service where they post false review and control e-reputation... That says everything about Amaris
    - Cheap company : hire young talent to pay low salaries. Their argument ? you're going to learn a lot. Which isn't really true in the end.
    - Situation of harassment as been reported to me , never experienced it myself, but apparently everybody knows that one finance guys tries very hard when he's traveling. #Weinstein
    - Low ethic company : just have to hear them talk about non European service centers. Company that only hire intern to lower the costs. As for the foundation thing, they do it for 2 reasons : taxation advantages & free marketing

The list is long, so before joining Amaris, call 10 former employee and you'll have an idea. If you're in school, ask former interns.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in real manager :
The management is horrible : Average age = 27 yo. As a result, you're manage by young worker or "kids" with no experience. The management is terrible, and it's not the fault of manager, but the fault of Executives. People crying in offices, extra hours not paid (we're talking about working home or at night), recurrent burn out, demission, bad review on the net, terrible reputation in schools...
