Pros
Amazing Lash is filled with opportunity and the culture is so fun! If you love beauty and enjoy lashes this is the place for you!
Cons
I wish there was a straightforward career path with pay raises yearly. Longevity doesn’t seem to matter as much when it comes to pay.

I believe gaining experience in working with a franchise as ALS could be beneficial as a new lash artist. They provide you with a thorough hands on training and theory modules which gives a good foundation. I'd say give it 9 months- 1 full year.
Cons
However, if it's a busy location starting off as a new stylist, could be a little overwhelming. They have strict time slots for services. Providing lash extensions is a super meticulous and sometimes certain clients may need more time then others. I personally disliked doing fill ins from other stylists, because alot of times the work had to be corrected/ removed before filling it ( which takes time). If you are very connected to your work it becomes frustrating when you only have an hour for fills. I specifically stayed at the first tier lash stylist because I didn't want the pressure of the time constrains that they had on junior/master stylists

Pros
You have a chance to grow and learn from other stylists as your advance your lash career. Insurance.
Cons
Clients are booked back to back. There should be 5min in between to avoid running into the next clients appointments. The pay is not consistent.

Shady and unprofessional

You are booked solid 8-11 hours with no breaks, so you get a lot of practice and get your speed up. You meet some great clients and the other lash artists are genuinely nice girls.
Cons
Very low pay for a licensed cosmetologist or esthetician. $8.00/hr, a dollar raise is offered if you can get your full set timing down to 1.5 hours- unrealistic for most clients and promotes rushed, messy work. A full set is $80, with the way commission works, you might make $13 dollars off your two hours of hard work if you’re lucky. You have to sign a non-compete for 1 year and 50 miles. Your commission % is split 50/50 with the front desk receptionists, and you lose all your commission if you miss a single day of work during the month, excused or unexcused. This includes retail selling contests, when you may have sold up to $700 worth of product. Extremely unprofessional management, seemingly with no previous experience managing anyone or anything. Only half off lashes for employees vs. free like most other locations and other lash studios. It’s alright, but I couldn’t even afford half off fills with the poverty wages I made. Client loyalty isn’t pushed, they will rebook your client with whomever, so you’re constantly working on top of other people’s work. (13+ other lash artists) If a frustrated client is having retention issues, this makes it VERY hard to pinpoint the cause and resolve it. The lash glue sucks. I’ll just say it. I don’t know if it’s on purpose, or if the aftercare instructions they push don’t mesh well with it (probably) but almost all of my clients had retention issues of some sort- no matter which trained lash artist they saw. They treat all employees like thieves and lock up ALL supplies to do your job (glue rings, disposable applicators, tape) so you have to pull front desk people away to retrieve any supplies you’ve ran out of. The front desk is in charge of refilling your lash palettes at the end of each day, but often that task is forgotten, or they run out of necessary lash lengths for long periods of time. Probably specific to my location, but they implemented a $5 cleaning fee contract (that turned out to be illegal) that they bullied everyone into signing, because they were having issues with one stubborn employee who openly refused to clean her room at the end of her shift. It basically stated that they would take $5 out of your paycheck without any notice if they found your room dissatisfactory in any way. This equated to about $50 per paycheck they wanted you to sign your rights away to. My specific location was also family owned, with no HR, awhich made any complaints about management or our treatment virtually impossible, and resulted in my premature departure despite actually enjoying the work and my awesome clients. I was never able to prove it, but I was pretty suspicious something fishy was going on with my tips. They weren’t consistent (lots of tips one day, literally none the next) They would shoo us away as soon as we brought our guests up to the front desk to prebook, say goodbye, and leave a tip on their on-file card. One of my clients reached out and informed me the front desk didn’t even give her the option to leave a tip. If business is slow, they’ll send you home early or push your clock-in time out a few hours and tell you to come in later, which for an hourly employee wastes your time and money you could have made.
