I worked at Amazon full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The experience you can gain at such a company is second to none. There are so many opportunities to learn and move around. It's very easy to contribute meaningfully

    Cons

The environment is so fast paced that you can easily get swallowed up in the competitiveness. It's not uncommon for teams to "race" for claims on projects and being able to navigate the political waters is a must. One wrong interaction, and it can throw off the course of your entire career.

    Advice to Management

Focus on making an environment where people can understand the group success mentality. It's important to identify your personal contribution to the win without negating from the win of a peer.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Work is very fast pace and there is never a full moment. You can work on one big project or 100 small projects, choice is yours to make.

    Cons

Because there is so much work, it takes a toll on you personally. Unless you move up and get people reporting into you, there is a pressure to do everything.
