I worked at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Because of the size of warehouse, you never really have to communicate with managers. You are free to use your hours as you please with no consequences unless you run out of hours. You are not a particularly important part of the process so you don't need to feel guilty about leaving early or taking time off.

    Cons

There is very limited opportunity for growth. Really feels like Amazon doesn't want to keep people around. They stop giving raises after three years. You don't get any variety in your work. It is just the same repetitive, monotonous task, which can be mastered in the first day, forever.

    Advice to Management

Treat workers like humans, not like an extension of their productivity rates.

I have been working at Amazon part-time

    Pros

Amazon is a great place to work if you want to work. If you want to be lazy then you might not like the environment. The schedule works for my life and VTO is offered daily if you want it in off peek times.

    Cons

the warehouse is hot and there is not enough fans
    not enough extra time offered

    Advice to Management

Reward hard workers not just those who clock in.

I worked at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Rewarding, Challenging, Great Opportunity for growth, great benefits. Fun job to have from home, great teams and support is available.

    Cons

I has a bad run of managers, before getting a good solid manager. High turnover in departments, pay was minimum wages however their is opportunity for growth.

    Advice to Management

Don't make empty promises, follow through with what you say you will do.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Health Insurance is all that is good

    Cons

    Bad management.
Hard to move up/no growth unless you are a favorite
Culture of a high school cafeteria.
    Backstabbing.
High stress for numbers not quality or safety (though it is a rather safe place to work besides the fact that the manual labor will eventually tear down your muscles and bones with the rates they demand)
Big Brother type of work place.
Time you for everything, including bathroom breaks.
    Propaganda shoved in your face.
Company expresses its CEO's political views as one-all-mighty-truth.
HR is there to protect the managers not employees.
    Over work
    No work-life balance
Demands you put vacation hours in with 24 hour notice and says they are suppose to give you a days notice for mandatory overtime but they will call for mandatory over time 19 hours before the start of the overtime shift. Last I checked a day is 24 hours not lunch time the day before the overtime is called.
Discriminatory; failed to get a promotion based on how young I looked.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites. Stop dating your subordinates. Stop thinking the way to achieve high numbers is to force rates and unreasonable expectations on people.

    Advice to Management

    Thank you!

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay for call center
    Reasonable hours/shift
Get two days off in a row
    Lots of opportunity for growth/movement

    Hour(unpaid) lunches, great lake view

    Cons

High pressure, high expectations, high stress
    Growing pains
1 minute 30 seconds aftercall work time to compose a fully formatted email to seller after completing every call, annotate case with internal annotation, annotate self-evaluation poll, select category of the issue, select subcategory of issue, select action taken.

4 minutes of personal time a day, or 20 minutes of personal time a week, whichever is less.
Very difficult to get exception for disability
Call handling time and case resolve rates are difficult to meet.

    Advice to Management

    More training for specialized departments
Try not to micromanage employee bathroom breaks
Increase after call time, to send quality, personalized, detailed emails to sellers.

Cross-train associates so they are aware what each dept does
Ease off call handling time, its about how much value we add to the seller in that interaction, not to get them off the phone and send them a sloppy email because we had very little time.

    Pros

great place to work while having fun and working out all in one place. benefits are great if you take the time to invest

    Cons

Treat everyone equally. Amazon tends to hire only military veterans or spouses of veterans in management. Civilians are just that when it comes down to the rest of the employees regardless to experience or degree
