The Leadership Principles are alive in everything we do. It is not easy, but it does make working at Amazon one of the best jobs I have ever had. Customer Obsession and Earning Trust (with our customers and each other) provides the foundation for impactful work!

    Cons

I have been working at Amazon part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work. Fun atmosphere. You can choose to do whatever you want, you're not subjected to the same position over and over.

    Cons

Short breaks, sometimes it can get boring, but when it picks up...it picks up.

I have been working at Amazon part-time

    Pros

No micromanagement, as long as you do your job properly you will be trusted. If the volume for that day is low enough, you are given the opportunity to leave early or not come in at all (as long as you sign into the website indicating so) with no penalty. Once you reach blue badge status (you must apply for it) you will get unpaid leave time which you can use as you please without calling in.

There are many opportunities for advancement, even within the fulfillment center itself.

    Cons

No chance to become full-time unless promoted to management, only allowed to work over 30 hours a week during very specified peak seasons. However, I have heard this is not the case everywhere.

Breaks are 15 minutes but you are required to be in your lane exactly at the 15 minute mark, effectively making breaks 13 minutes.

    Advice to Management

Make breaks at least 20 minutes and do not count the time it takes to walk back to the lane. Employees won't be as tired, increasing productivity in the long run

Allow working over 30 hours during times other than peak seasons

    Pros

Amazon is an equal opportunity employer with a rich culture full of values such as teamwork, comradery, and determination.

    Cons

Honestly within Amazon it is what you make it. Hard Work and Determination are key in surviving in this environment.

    Advice to Management

More formal training for newer Leadership brought in from outside of Amazon as well as more standardized training for leaders switching departments.
