I have been working at Amazon part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Shares; learned lots of skills, flexible hours, paid holidays

    Cons

Micromanagement, constantly pushing staff to reach unachievable targets causing stress

    Advice to Management

Set targets +stick to them! You can't expect employees to be pushed and beyond their capabilities by constantly moving the targets once the current ones have been reached. SLOW DOWN - allow employees to catch their breath and either remain at service level +provide opportunity to advance if employee so chooses

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Amazon as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job incorporated two of the things I love in a job interaction with customers and driving would definitely like to take this kind of job on again elsewhere

    Cons

Rarely seen my family the days were too long out of the house before 9 and not getting home until sometimes 11 at night which equated to illegal driving hours and below national minimum wage pay

    Advice to Management

I worked at Carrickfergus depo. Routes need to be made smaller if you have 9 hours 20 mins to complete a route with the average delivery rate of 10- 12 per hour drivers should never be going out with more that 90 to 100 parcels and after a court case on 28th October 2016 when Uber Drivers took the company to court it was ruled that people should be classed as employees and not self employed in these kinds of jobs as the judge stated it should set a new president for other companies that class drivers as self employed to get out of paying benefits like sick and holiday pay and drivers are just disposable
