I have been working at Amazon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good hours, pays well considering the expectations, can progress extremely rapidly

Not nearly as advanced as they market themselves. Very chaotic and dysfunctional work environment on the shop floor due to the rapid growth. Some extremely unhappy people working here.

    I worked at Amazon full-time

    Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

    Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.

    Advice to Management

More on-boarding training before new employees are thrown in the fire. The first couple of weeks can be very confusing on where to find the information you need that pertains to your job.

I worked at Amazon as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy work, decent pay for shifting boxes. Friendly staff and working standards. I mean that the standards were good, and I felt like I belonged there.

    Cons

The work is pretty boring and you can get pretty moody after stacking boxes for a day. You have to work pretty hard to meet standards expected.

    Advice to Management

Would suggest more respect to lower employees

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing, I've had micro management before so I know what bad management feels/looks like.
