I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good environment, competitive salary and good benefits. Possibility to learn a lot and to take responsibility if you want to grow professionally, but you have to be very proactive to be also rewarded.

    Cons

You are a number, things can change from a day to another and it means that if you have worked a lot something could change and you loose the recognition of what you have done

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Countless learning opportunities; highly dynamic environment

    Cons

Teams are clustered and often lack communication (i.e. unrelated processes could benefit from the same best practices, but each develop their own solution instead)

    Advice to Management

Invest in growing ACES, PMO and other process improvement related teams with the goal of streamlining how processes are developed

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Leadership Principles - They are really helpful if you follow them and implement them to your business life. I believe if everyone would follow LP this company will be the best company ever. -Objective Interviews - Min 4 people are interviewing you so there is no emotional feelings involved which makes the decision easier. - Opportunities to learn and develop - lot of training

    Cons

-Micro Management - It does not matter if you are experience or not, they will check you whatever you do. Its not only in one department its generally everywhere in Amazon. In my department if you are sending email even with local language, your manager is translating it, reading it then approve so you can contact someone outside amazon (customer, reseller, vendor) -Mobbing - Passive aggression and talking... disrespectful and not modest approach (you will feel who is manager even by greeting you. They always thing they are higher than you no matter how old you are! -Lack of Work-Life Balance -overtime overtime overtime and no extra payment -Politics at management - they always cover eachother -Always requiring more - whatever you achieve is never enough -Feedbacks are not accepted ( 10 people left team in 1 year due to manager, no action taken)

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fast changing environment, many possibilities but you have to know with whom to talk and to whom be nice. You can meet people from around the world and learn a lot very fast. I recommend people to work in Amazon as it is great opportunity. I do not recommend people to work in payroll in Amazon.

    Cons

There is no mercy in payroll department and you will work very hard (Bratislava, Slovakia) Salaries are way too low for what you have to do Not paid overtimes in payroll A LOT OF POLITICS! so sad unfair differences in salaries No respect to employees in payroll department

    Advice to Management

Treat people with respect and stop with so much politics, it is embarrassing.

    Pros

This is the type of Company that make you think outside of the box in all possible circumstances that you may come across on the daily basis... They really believe in your potential and they give you the freedom to speak out and share your ideas. Also, in the learning process as a new hire, you should learn new things and investigate them by yourself.... It is a very effective approach because nobody will be sitting... there waiting for the information to come to them (you have to go after the information yourself). I sum it all up in two words: Personal Development.
