    Advice to Management

I love working for Amazon @ Cvg 2 My boss Angela Kelly she is Great a wonderful boss. What I respect about her is she is a boss not a friend! Meaning we need a leader and she is in fact a Leader not a friend. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty she will get right on the line and work side by side with us. Angela when she coaches us she does itin a positive way I respect her. I feel whatever she is getting paid itshould be more Angela Kelly is wonderful Leader Boss!

I worked at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Smart people, a lot of hustle. You can make a different and really change the operations floor.

    Cons

Mandatory overtime is forced from end of october to december with no additional pay. I was at a crossdock facility which means meant everything was much messier and dirty compared to a fulfillment center. You have to give feedback to 120+ direct reports weekly and it just feels impersonal and pointless when up to 10 people are turning over every week.

    Advice to Management

Give better feedback and support to area managers.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can make a lot of money quickly if you work very hard. Amazon is very quickly to spot talent and will develop you and promote you quickly if they see that you are willing to put in a lot of hard work. The work is challenging so you are constantly growing.

    Cons

They will take any time you give them. It can be very difficult to find a good work/life balance if you are obsessive about doing a good job. They will always put just a little more on your plate than you think you can handle. You will be surprised at how quickly you grow with these challenges but it takes a toll on your outside work life.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to encourage growth without asking so much.

The company cares for those even at the lowest level. I am currently an L1 and have had opportunities that I would not have imagined with people higher up in the company. I am grateful for everything that Amazon has sent my way.

    Pros

Great Pay, Easy to move up in the company, very relaxed place to work, very safe place to work as well.

    Cons

Micromanaged, tons of dumb people, short shifts, can get very loud, constant changes to policies and procedures which creates confusion.

    Advice to Management

Overall great job. Would prefer to be a little harsher on people who don't work and stand around on their phones the whole shift.

I worked at Amazon as a contractor

    Pros

Nothing positive to say about a company that did not pay an employee. Thankfully I have since found a job that pays me correctly and in a timely fashion.

    Cons

I was not paid. When it came time to receive my first paycheck as a seasonal employee, I was not paid (December 2016) and still to this day have not been paid. (April 2018)

    Advice to Management

Make sure to pay your employees.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The compensation from Amazon is very fair. Vacation and personal time is pretty standard.

    Cons

Depending on your level within the company & your location the work/life balance of Amazon can vary. If you're not happy with your current situation consider taking action to relocate to a different area that may have different hours or different opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Please continue to be proactive and develop your teams based on their opportunities. I recommend the introduction of reading assignments to broaden the views of those within leadership.
