I worked at Amazon part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work at home and flexible schedule

    Cons

Constantly changing rules and processes and you have to figure out everything on your own because your manager either doesn’t know or care.

    Advice to Management

Stop using the hope of future employment as a carrot to seasonal employees when none are hired.

I worked at Amazon full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Good pay, good benefits. They'll work w/ you & possibly pay for some of your schooling.

      Cons

Long hours, unfair treatment. Poor management, a lot of drama. A backwards system. Very demanding.

      Advice to Management

Anyone that's going to be manager there should try to learn about the warehouse beforehand. They should also acknowledge the associates there, treat them fairly and be respectful towards them. Treat them like they matter.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

There is plenty of good things to say about Amazon. Plenty of workers would be happy with the insurance alone. The lowest end of payscale is $15/hour. As IT Support Engineer I am getting $21.15/hour, above expectations for the area. Amazon does really value their leadership principles and it shows in their management.

      Cons

There is something called "Amazon pace." No matter what role you are at Amazon, you won't be lacking on finding something to do! Not a bad thing for those on the move, but if you expect things to be easy, not the place for you!

      Advice to Management

From what I read, Amazon, like most companies doesn't reward loyalty when it comes to promotions, lucky, it seems some management fights for their workers.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Decent pay and benefits but not the greatest. You can pay $15 an hour but it is not worth the pain and headache!

      Cons

Horrible management, overworked to death, ERC/HR IS CRAP! They don’t care about you or your money or what goes on, they’ll work you down til you are no longer functional. All they think about is cutting money, and making more money for themselves.

      Advice to Management

Stop treating people like disposable numbers, ERC needs major work when people are effected outside of work who lost out on wages they are fighting for that they aren’t even responsible for.

I have been working at Amazon full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

If you have good work ethics, than you'll be fine. Great medical plans, stock options, 401k, maternity and paternity leave. 3 days off per week most of the year. Paid vacation and personal time.

      Cons

No prime membership. Work life balance is hard on 10-12 hour shifts, when you get off work the last thing you want to do is cook or go to the gym. If you're a picker, it can take weeks to get used to the walking and the effects it'll have on your body. Pay for Tier 3 (the next level up) is not competitive, and fairly insulting considering the amount of responsibility one takes on in that position. The CEO is now the...

      Advice to Management

Try to get to know your workers, especially if you are upper management.
