I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

AWS culture is very unique - customer obsessed, innovative, and creative. The leadership principals drive the culture. Very fast paced organization, and individuals must be able to work independently and learn how to execute quickly.

    Cons

AWS is an growing very fast and it is requires individuals to adapt and execute depending on the nature of the situation.

    Advice to Management

Continue hiring people who demonstrate our core leadership principals.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Money. Opportunity. Benefits. Travel. lots of locations. Lots of areas to explore. Great for young career climbers. Not so great for the rest of us.

    Cons

Expectations. Employees literally treated like a bar code. No warmth at all. No personality. Very cold and impersonal. No training. Company wide sink or swim mentality. Managers who don’t want to manage.

    Advice to Management

How about you start encouraging your employees to actually talk and create relationships? We get it. The customer is #1. But it’s coming at the cost of real humans. Your employees.

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Will hire any person that can fill out an application
    Fulltime
    Great 401K Plan
    Potential to advance easily
Very fast pace and ever changing.
    Work from Home

    Cons

Stock plan is a flat out lie
Cross train into every dept they can get you in without any compensation at all
Always changing supervisors (9 in 1year)
Cant settle and learn your job because they are ALWAYS shuffling employees
After 1yr you are eligible to earn Vacation 1 hour at a time.
Quarterly bonus is ALWAYS not right
Never know from 1 day to the next what your going to be doing

    Advice to Management

Stop shuffling employees like a deck of cards
    Slow down
All Supervisors should have at least 6 weeks on the phones so they know what they are talking about
Employees that work from home should be able to have some fun like they do in Seattle

    I worked at Amazon full-time

    Pros

They gave us a $2.50 raise while I was there, cause everyone else was making more than them

    Cons

Thy won't listen to their employees when you have a problem, or if you tell them you can't work at one position but they put you there anyways. My biggest problem was the HR department at the disabuation center. I had a question about using my PTO and went to the HR "office" (can't really call it a office cause it just something they made up at there entrance). When I ask the question they look me up and notice I was clock in and told me to go to work and won't answer my question. When I call there 800 number they agree it was wrong of them to do what they did but didn't help me with solving that problem. Also when I put in my PTO I got it wrong and put in too much time for that day so for working 4 hours and use 10 hours of PTO.

    Advice to Management

    listen to your employees!!!!!!

I have been working at Amazon part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible Hours, good pay, no micromanagement

    Cons

Have to frantically refresh the ap to get work. No room for advancement, Poor communication, one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

    Advice to Management

Create a better system for drivers to get shifts work in teams, make drivers feel part of the team instead of slaves.

I worked at Amazon as an intern

    Pros

Money, work is based on research. You've choice on design. I like the way the project starts. You give requirements and the whole team critics and gives feedback. Then you work on second draft.

    Cons

You're expected to work a lot to land a full time through internship. I took it a little easy. But was expecting a full time job as my final presentation was good and I almost completed my project. But I think first impression matters

    Advice to Management

It's good. I don't really have an opinion. As I feel mistake was on my side. They had already clarified that They are expecting more.

Friendly co-workers, you don't feel alone even though you work from home. Plenty of support and they are very positive even if you make a mistake.

    Cons

    The metrics can seem unreasonable.

I worked at Amazon as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits, great hours, friendly environment, and a learning environment. It's very professional and they look out for you. You learn to put things together as a team.

    Cons

You dinner receive your benefits until after you've been there for a year, and they don't really give you over time.

    Advice to Management

Having over time isn't a bad thing and benefits for a full time employee after 90 days is more feasible.

Love it! It feels good to work with smart forward thinking people. The benefits are great, the best I've seen in a long time.

    Cons

Type B personalities are sometimes "lost in the shuffle." If you want to be recognized it's necessary to let everyone know what you are doing and how well you are doing it.

    Advice to Management

Listen to and support your associates.
