I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great pay for entry level manager.
Ability to start projects that influence your department/team or facility.
Open door policy with top management means that managers are always in check.
Comprehensive daily grading system for all managers that get rated by their direct reports which ensures that all managers are always trying to improve and learn.
    Able to drive meaningful results.
Management really does try improving the experience for area managers.

    Cons

Job is very high paced and very demanding which may lead to managers freaking out and quitting; understandable but one should push themselves to take on this huge challenge instead of running from it.

Depending on how well your site runs you should be regularly NOT doing overtime (except for 1 week and 1 month in a year (prime day, Peak season)). Expect 40-45 hour work weeks with up to 60 hours during peak and prime. This will be different for launch buildings

    Advice to Management

Keep on maintaining the mindset that you are not the perfect employer, keep on trying to improve, this will lead to bettering the experiences for all of your new hires.

    Cons

The training for Inbound putaways is terrible. They only give one day of training. They put you on your own next day. We make multiple of errors they dont like. They are always rushing you to do more and more. When you are putting away items , you look for the locations the scanner dont tell you where to go. You have to go down each isle to find a location to put it away but the scan gun will say improper location so you spend time looking to put it away , it affects your quota they want 100 percent. They are others I know are over riding the scan gun to put items away. I know thats how they are getting these big numbers. The Ambassador are suppose to train you correctly but it only maybe a 2 hours cause they others to train also. If you are picker you will do great the scan gun tells you where and what location and bin number. They should have the same for Inbound putaways but they dont. They set you up to fail on this job position. You ask a manger for help they forget about you. They are always finding ways to write you up. They are way to strict for what they are. Employees are rude esp one that been there we ask for help from one of them that does well on numbers he just laugh ask how he does it...that so wrong when you are suppose to be a team. Amazon says were a team. The 15 min breaks are joke cause you dont it by the time you park your picker it take 5 mins to get to break room so they count once you park your picker not fair I do believe. You might get 8 mins of break if you are late they write you up. The supervisor tells you to eat on your picker. You aren't allow to do that. We get to the break room I know others already been there before we were , we leave before them , the supervisor got on us. Stay away from Amazon. All they worry about is numbers not employees

    Advice to Management

Train alot better. You want these crazy numbers if you are putting away you have to find space to putaway that take time to...never meet your quota
