I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

great benefits and fast growing company

    Cons

lack of management it seems they are afraid to walk down the production line I have seen 2 people in my first 90 days walk down an aisle.

    Advice to Management

the works leave 5 minutes early and come back 5 minutes late for both break this is 66 hours stolen from company every shift if 200 people did this its 86k in lost money 200is a pipe dream about 90% do this the place could be so productive if management would be on the floor and manage the lines of work

I have been working at Amazon full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have been at Amazon < 1yr but I can firmly say that the company invests so much in its people from day-one, and everyone at the company is extremely friendly, intelligent and on top of their game. Contrary to other reports that Amazon exhibits a poor work-life balance , so far I have seen a sincere effort to maintain a good work-life balance. Amazonians truly do live and breathe the 14 leadership principles in their day-to-day decisions. Finally, I would say Amazon is a place where you build a career not hold a "job".

    Cons

The mac laptop that Solutions Architects get is too small, and my windows laptop could be a bit more feature-rich while still being frugal. :)

    Advice to Management

Keep fostering a culture in which the leadership principles are extremely pronounced in day-to-day decisions and in everything that we do - from the smallest to the biggest. Also, keep hiring the best!

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I work for a new division of Amazon. Amazon has proven to be very flexible and helpful during the launch of our division. Work is fulfilling and benefits are excellent. The work environment is very welcoming and exciting, while remaining professional and work-oriented.

    Cons

As is normal with a startup department, a lot of ambiguity at first. That has since improved.

    Advice to Management

Focus just a bit more on employee development. My direct manager does a good job of that, but I've heard that various markets do not have that same attention.
