I worked at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company, good benefits and the culture of the company is very good

    Cons

terrible management, micro management was rife while i was there, and despite being successful my manager hounded me out of the company. Seem to be rapidly going away from putting the customer first. Poor career advancement also leads to quite a high turn over of staff

    Advice to Management

Consider carefully what you want to company to be, is it following on in Amazon's footsteps of great customer service and the customer buys when he is ready, or is it going to become just another tech giant that rams its products down companies throats

I have been working at Amazon full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great Place to work without a doubt.

    - Generally colleagues are helpful and fun to work with.

    - Many events.

    - if you work hard and play by the rules you really can promote your way to the top.

    - good benefits ( in Dublin).

    Cons

    - Management stand in the way of engineers career path. Force engineers to work in areas where it’s not necessary. Makes engineers unhappy and / or leave.

    - regardless of who or where your at in AWS, when it comes to promotion time the phrase “total compensation” will be used a lot to basically not give you a pay rise.
Basic knowledge is thrown out the window during this time.

    Advice to Management

    - Listen to your engineers as they are the people on the front line.

    - Stop trying to fix something that’s not broke.
